Metro Nashville police have arrested an illegal immigrant for allegedly using Facebook Marketplace to lure victims to rob.

Police arrested 20-year-old Yordi Xitumul Gutierrez at his home in Old Hickory. He was identified as the alleged attacker who robbed three individuals in two separate occurrences in the last month.

According to police, Gutierrez would create a Facebook Marketplace advertisement, under the guise of selling a Toyota Corolla. He would then make arrangements to meet interested parties at various locations on Old Hickory Boulevard. Because the individuals were considering the purchase of a vehicle, Gutierrez knew they would be in possession of cash.

Upon meeting them, he would pull out a handgun and steal that money from the victim. He also stole an iPhone and a license plate from a third individual who accompanied one of the other people.

Gutierrez is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery and is being held on a $150,000 bond.

He is listed as having an immigration detainer hold, meaning he is in the country illegally and Immigration and Customs Enforcement intends to assume custody of him.
