The Tennessee Conservative [By Adelia Kirchner] –
A new federal and state joint effort to reduce crime rates in Memphis, called the “Memphis Safe Task Force” set up shop in the West Tennessee city last week.
Within the first 72 hours of the operation law enforcement had made a total of 93 arrests and seized 28 illegal firearms according to U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi.
The Memphis Safe Task Force’s work began on Monday, September 29th, per an executive order from President Donald J. Trump and National Guard troops arrived on Wednesday, October 1st.
Despite backlash from some public officials, other public officials and residents seem to be hopeful about the Trump Administration’s involvement in the task force.
In a recent story from NPR, Memphis barber Carnell Vann Jr. shared his little sister Marlanda’s story.
47-year-old Marlanda was driving her car in September when someone shot into her car.
The bullet went in near one ear and out near the other, resulting in her death.
Vann Jr. told NPR that although Memphis crime numbers have declined it doesn’t feel that way and he hopes that the Memphis Safe Task Force is successful in making the community safer.
“They try to come up with a solution, but none of the solutions work,” he says. “I’m hoping this solution right here works.”
Democrat state lawmaker Rep. Antonio Parkinson (D- Memphis – District 98) says that while he wouldn’t have asked for the National Guard deployment or the task force involving federal agencies, he “strongly believes in making the most of it.”
“That’s always been my position,” said Rep. Parkinson “I don’t care what they throw at us, we will always take the lemons and make the best tasting lemonade that you’ve ever tasted out of it. And that’s honestly the spirit of Memphis.”

Lucifer’s accursed dimmercraps, criminals idiots or both. They secretly want help but can’t admit they don’t have sense enough to run a city.
