According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement officials conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford Econoline van that was towing an enclosed trailer on Hwy. 111 South.

As officers approached the vehicle, they noticed a strong marijuana smell coming from the van.

Deputies found 18 passengers in the van. Three of the 16 adults were confirmed to be illegal aliens while the others are currently under investigation of ICE.

Two children, ages 3 and 4, were also in the van. They were placed in the custody of the Department of Children’s Services.
