Tennessee Conservative News Staff –
Recent property value increases in the Nashville area have resulted in an increase in property taxes that have left many residents and small business owners concerned that they will no longer be able to stay in the area.
As of Tuesday, property owners can now submit formal appeals of those new assessments.

Nearly 3000 parcels of land have already been submitted for informal reevaluations with data showing that about 49% of those requests – or 1422 parcels – did have a change in value after that reevaluation.
The changes resulted in a difference of $54 million and savings on those tax bills for some property owners.
Those who still wish to contest their assessments can now file a formal appeal with the Metro Board of Equalization. Those appeals are due by June 26.
