Wilson County Republican Party –

We are all very saddened by the tragic shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville, and our prayers are for the grieving families and school community. This is another in a long list of bad people preying upon helpless, unarmed individuals. Had there been someone in the school, who was armed, this could have been much different.

There is currently a bill in the Tennessee Legislature, SB1325, that will make it legal for Teachers, Principals and other School Personnel to Conceal Carry. As is always the case when there is a heinous shooting, the forces arrayed against the 2nd Amendment, those who would take the arms from law-abiding citizens, leaving them at the mercy of criminals, are using this recent tragedy to come after our Rights!

Senator Bailey is the sponsor of SB1325, and as you can imagine, his office is being deluged with calls from those who oppose our 2nd Amendment Right, insisting that the Bill be withdrawn or defeated. We cannot let that happen! Good folks, armed and properly trained, could have prevented this tragedy and many others.

Please Call Senator Bailey at (615) 741-3978 or email him at sen.paul.bailey@capitol.tn.gov and let him know that you are in favor of this and anything else that would help ensure the safety of our children and protect our Rights!

It’s only obvious that those that volunteer be able to safeguard students and staff.
Also former military and law enforcement personnel should be offered a paid position in our schools.
I’m sure there are some programs that could be eliminated to cover the minimal cost

This is the best way to stop school killings. It is even better than having an armed security guard because those don’t always work – they didn’t work in FL and Uvalde. It is also MUCH cheaper. Give the teachers who want them guns and a lockbox and require annual training.

Shooters are less likely to go into a school where people are armed,

There isn’t any danger – if a teacher wanted to smuggle a gun into school they could. They can keep the gun in a lockbox.

It is illogical to oppose teachers being armed – only Libs and Leftists would oppose it.
