The Tennessee Conservative [By Olivia Lupia] –

Davidson County judges have taken issue with social media comments by Congressman Andy Ogles about the failure of Nashville’s justice system in allowing a Somali national with over a dozen prior arrests to walk free and allegedly repeatedly rape a woman in front of a church, claiming his comments promoted “violent” and “dangerous rhetoric”.

Ogles, whose district encompasses a large swath of Nashville and the surrounding area, commented on the case, calling for all state judges to be impeached and saying that as long as “local liberals are running things in Middle Tennessee, we are at war.” He also said the National Guard should be deployed to Nashville.

These statements apparently struck a chord with judges of the Davidson County General Sessions Court, who ordered increased security measures and appealed to Gov. Bill Lee for immediate assistance, claiming Ogles’ comments created “serious safety concerns” for judges, staff, and the public at the A.A. Birch Courthouse.

“We stand united in condemning any language or actions that target Judges- or any elected officials- with threats of violence as means of expressing political disagreement. In light of the numerous acts of political violence witnessed in recent years, the statements made by Mr. Ogles are unacceptable,” the Judges wrote in a joint statement

“His choice to employ rhetoric invoking violence, even for political grandstanding, carries real and dangerous consequences. Our foremost responsibility is to ensure that courthouse employees and every member of the public entering the Birch Building are safe and can access the justice system without fear of becoming casualties in what Mr. Ogles has described as a ‘war’ on elected officials. Anyone interpreting his inflammatory remarks as a call to action would be gravely mistaken.”

In their letter to the Governor, the judges accused Ogles of a “reckless use of violent rhetoric” which “can embolden he most extreme elements and lead to tragic consequences”.

We urge the State to take appropriate action to counter the dangerous and inflammatory rhetoric issued by Mr. Ogles. Tennessee must not become the site of the next preventable tragedy,” it read.

Fox 17 News reported they attempted to speak with one of the 11 judges who signed the letter but was informed the judges will not be responding to questions and that the letter speaks for itself.

And while Gov. Lee’s office has also not responded to requests for comment, Ogles fired back to the judges accusations, writing, “Instead of apologizing to the family of that young woman who was raped to death, instead of apologizing to the people of Nashville, these judges have the gall to publicly complain about my oversight and call it ‘dangerous rhetoric.’ A woman was raped and is now dead because of woke policies, and those on the Davidson County General Sessions Court who let off a dangerous migrant criminal more than twelve times. These judges are asking Governor Lee to give them heightened security because they feel threatened by my comments. Where were these Judges when she was being raped? Where were they when she lay dying? Do they care at all about the safety of my constituents? Doubtful.”

He also posted a video of himself on a phone call, captioning it by telling the “woke” Davidson County Judges to “spare me the drama”.

He reiterated the sentiments from his previous comments and added that he is going “to fight for Nashville and my constituents, and I’ve had enough of this crap… And I’m sorry that they’re offended and scared, but I’m guessing [the rape victim] was scared too.”

Another post read, “Nashville is target number one by globalists to pollute red America. The Nashville General Sessions Court has proven they are part of this. They protected a Somali criminal and now someone is dead. Exposing them IS in my wheelhouse.”

During an interview on Wednesday, he committed to getting the Somalian offender deported instead of having Nashville’s liberal District Attorney “get the Somali rapist into a cushy mental hospital paid for by Tennesseans.”

In a show of support, the Williamson County GOP issued a statement commending Ogles’ demand for judicial accountability.

“The Williamson County Republican Party has been clear in past statements and renews its rejection of political violence as a means to solve differences. We similarly acknowledge that Democrat policies—and their enablement by Democrat-led justice systems—have caused major cities in the United States to experience accelerating levels of crime of which Americans are rightly fearful,” it read.

“We stand behind all Republicans who are working with our President to clean up the mess created by Democrats and call on Nashvillians to demand accountability for judicial activism that allows criminals to prey on innocent citizens…We deserve to walk our streets with confidence and we appreciate Congressman Ogles’ commitment to protect the innocent and identify the failures that have led to such tragedies. The Williamson County Republican Party stands with him in holding responsible those in our judicial system who have failed in their duties to keep our communities safe,” the press release concluded.

  1. There was nothing violent in what Rep. Ogles said. He spoke the truth. So they are worried about truthful statements made by a US Representative but they are obviously not concerned with letting rapists and murderers free to roam the streets and terrorize the people of Nashville. So is this just another example of the self appointed elites worried about their safety and the safety of the citizens of Nashville be damned??? The really sad thing is they don’t even realize how incriminating and obvious their own statements are. Again they are worried about THEIR safety but not the safety of that poor woman and this spawn of Satan’s other victims. Time for the people of Nashville to look out for themselves and look elsewhere to live.

  2. Thank you Mr. Ogles for standing up to rogue, woke judges who place themselves in their ivory towers making law instead of upholding it. It all comes back to rules for thee but not for me. Please continue to stand for Tennesseans and protect us from radical judges.
