A former Clarksville English teacher has been charged with sex-related crimes involving a teenager who was only 16 years old at the time.

Kendahl Erin Coode, 27, was an English teacher at Northwest High School. Coode allegedly communicated online two times in October 2022 to expose the teen to sexual material, according to a July indictment by the Montgomery County Grand Jury.

No further details were given as to exactly what is alleged to have happened, but Coode was indicted on two counts of solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor. She was arrested on July 17.

On the same day, the Montgomery County Circuit Court issued a no-contact order, stating that Coode “is a threat to the alleged victim” and requiring that she refrain from contacting or approaching the child.

When the incident was alleged to have occurred, Coode was in her second year of employment at Northwest. She was hired in August 2021, according to Clarksville-Montgomery County School System spokesman Anthony Johnson

When CMCSS received word of the investigation on November 1, 2022, Coode was immediately reassigned to duty at an alternative worksite and was instructed not to have any contact with students. Coode resigned on December 2, 2022, while still off-site pending the outcome of the investigation.

Multiple sources have attempted to reach Coode for comment with no response to date.
