A Nashville man who formerly worked as a teacher’s aide at a private school for children with special needs has been arrested on multiple charges related to alleged sexual misconduct with two students.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 33-year-old Justin Henderson has been charged with four counts of inducing sexual activity by a minor and three counts of displaying sex acts to a minor.

Reports state that two 16-year-old male students told a school employee at Genesis Academy on June 19 that Henderson had participated in video chats in which the boys depicted sexual activity.

The Department of Children’s Services was notified as the school did an internal investigation.

According to a statement from Genesis, the initial allegation came from an 18-year-old former student. During the investigation, however, it was determined that a current student was potentially being victimized as well.

Henderson was terminated from the school on June 24.

During a September 12 interview with Youth Services detectives, Henderson reportedly admitted to participating in sexual video chats with the students via Instagram and Facebook.

He disclosed that this behavior led to his termination after five years of employment at the school.

Henderson was taken into custody on September 13. As of the latest report, he remains in jail with bond set at $150,000.

MNPD is handling the ongoing investigation into these allegations.
