The Tennessee Conservative [By Jason Vaughn] –

Tennessee lawmakers are considering a bill that would ban drag shows from being performed in front of children. It will appear in both House and the Senate committees on January 31.

Senate Bill 0003, sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson (R-Franklin-District 27), as introduced, “creates an offense for a person who engages in an adult cabaret performance on public property or in a location where the adult cabaret performance could be viewed by a person who is not an adult.”

The companion House Bill 0009 is sponsored by Representative Chris Todd (R-Madison County-District 73).

According to the bill, adult cabaret performers would be defined as male or female impersonators who provide entertainment of a sexual nature, as well as strippers and exotic dancers.

If signed into law, the first offense would be a Class A misdemeanor and carry up to a year in jail and fines up to $2,500. A second offense would be classified as a Class E felony, which is punishable with up to 6 years in prison and $3,000 in fines.

The law would be an amendment to TCA Title 7, Chapter 51, Part 14 which already prohibits adult entertainment businesses from working within 1,000 feet of certain locations such as churches, schools, or public parks.

The bill is set to be heard by the Senate Judiciary Committee and the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee on January 31.

If you are in favor of this bill and would like to express your support, please contact the members of the Senate committee and House Subcommittee as listed below prior to that January 31 meeting.

Republicans -We must uphold and protect personal rights- Well not this right, we cant allow people to see something we dont support. BTW – children are not allowed in strip clubs, its not even an issue, so dont bother with that.

I will repost this for you.
Wow Shawn you are so tolerate of us Christians.. No matter how you try to justify your reprobate and perverted lifestyle choice in Gods words it’s an abomination. We will all stand before God and we will have to give an account. You say it’s all acting. Well I beg to differ. I’m not condemning anyone. You are condemning yourself. I just quote God’s word. You choose not to follow but I do. Obviously this is really about decency and morality. And in my opinion your moral compass is way off. Just remember God will not be mocked whether you believe or not. Shawn I have no desire to go one of those perverted and lewd (acting) shows. You have a hatred for Christians because we know the difference between moral and immoral behavior and good and evil. But bless your heart for really trying to justify your immoral lifestyle.
In God we trust not government or man.
    Have a blessed day.

So repeating what repubs say on freedoms is being intolerant? This is not about decency, or morality, its about personal freedoms… something that conservatives used to support. I’m not justifying anything but the ability to choose, when you lose that then its just a matter of time before they continue to take away your freedoms, but since you dont like this you dont mind. Remember when we all wanted the freedom to choose to be vaccinated or not? I’ll leave you with that, and bless your heart.

NO it is about Decency and Morality and it’s not about personal freedoms. There are a lot of things you can’t do if a person is under the age of 18. Buy alcohol, cigarettes, vote, go to strip club or drive a car are just a few examples. So it isn’t about personal freedoms. It’s about protecting children from perverted and lewd activity. Obviously you don’t have any children because you think this is normal behavior in your mind. Again the difference between Moral and Immoral and Good vs Evil. We conservative do support personal freedoms but this isn’t about that. You can attend these shows if you want. Your personal freedoms are not being infringed upon. I could care less but to take a child that is under the age of 18 is despicable.

        Have a blessed day.
