An illegal alien was arrested last week in Nashville for allegedly pretending to be a teenager while sexually assaulting and exploiting a 15-year-old girl.
According to arrest documents, 22-year-old Jerson Diaz was charged with statutory rape and sexual exploitation of a minor after the girl told family members about her encounters with him.
Diaz allegedly admitted to police that he was aware of the girl’s age and that he lied about his age. The two had been communicating since August, according to the girl. Officers found a sexually explicit video of the girl, which Diaz admitted to taking.
Diaz was interviewed by police through a Spanish interpreter. He was booked into the Davidson County Jail on a $60,000 total bond. He is now being held on an immigrant detainer, so he will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
