A leaked resolution had uncovered the Shelby County Republican Party County Executive Committee’s intention to remove partisan elections for Shelby County School Boards.

Justin Johnson, Collierville Republican, posted on Facebook – “The Shelby GOP is silencing and removing the Republican vote on your child’s school board.”

The resolution is scheduled to be voted on during the Shelby County GOP CEC’s meeting on September 7th at 7PM Central Time.

Justin Johnson said, “We need as many people as possible to be at this meeting.  It’s your choice, do you want to fight a woke school board or choose a Republican school board!”

I was involved with changing the law to make School Board elections “partisan”. But I’m in Williamson County where 65% of the people are Repubs. The Dems were running as “non-partisan” and pretending to be conservative. In Dem Memphis, a person running as a Repub probably wouldn’t win, so “non-partisan” might be better for Repubs.
