The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –

Governor Bill Lee won re-election Tuesday night and will serve another four years in leading the state. Andy Ogles, endorsed by President Donald Trump, won the newly redrawn fifth congressional district.

Lee led the Governor’s race with 67.4% of the vote compared to Democratic challenger Jason Martin’s 30.5% in a race that was called within 30 minutes of polls closing.

Former Maury County Mayor Andy Ogles will be the next 5th Congressional District representative in Tennessee. Ogles, a Republican, led Democrat Heidi Campbell with 56% of the vote to 42.2% of the vote when Campbell conceded on Tuesday night.

Campbell had outraised Ogles in the race with more than $1 million in campaign funds compared to Ogles’ $987,000, according to numbers from mid-October posted by OpenSecrets. Campbell had spent $668,411 to Ogles’ $573,178.

The Republican National Committee’s Spokeswoman, Savannah Viar, issued this statement to The Tennessee Conservative:

“Congratulations to Governor Bill Lee, congressman-elect Andy Ogles and all our other GOP victors tonight that will serve as a blockade to the failed Biden agenda. Biden and the Democrats have opened our southern border, weakened our economy, and sent prices skyrocketing. These Republicans are fired up to put an end to these Democrat disasters.”
