Tennessee Conservative News [By Olivia Lupia] –

Last month, the U.S. Marshals Service announced that the Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF) had reached a milestone of over 10,000 arrests and the recovery of 1,708 illegal firearms since the operation began in September 2025. But those numbers have continued to climb, with the MSTF reporting roughly 10,600 arrests, as of Monday, July 6.

According to the June 10 press release, Memphis Safe Task Force officers have arrested 92 individuals for homicide, 1,102 for controlled substances, 105 for sex offenses, and 962 for firearms violations. Of those arrested, 1,062 were known gang members, and 293 were juveniles.

The MSTF has also located more than 154 missing children in their mission to “identify, apprehend, and hold accountable those who pose a threat to public safety,” including their most recent rescue last week of a 14-year-old girl from a drug-filled Memphis motel room.

Federal, state, and local police were on the scene to arrest the man found with the girl, and authorities are investigating the case as a child trafficking incident.

Additional data from the City of Memphis shows almost 16,000 arrests have been made in Memphis by all law enforcement agencies since the task force was deployed nine months ago with a roughly 40% decrease in all crime reports and about 17% decrease in all calls for police service.

“This is a significant milestone for the dedicated men and women working around the clock to end street and violent crime in Memphis,” said Tyreece Miller, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee. “By removing these illicit firearms from Memphis streets and making 10,000 arrests, we have achieved unprecedented results, not just for the Task Force, but for all the residents and visitors to our beloved city. I am extremely proud of the work they have done and that they will continue to do to fulfill the President’s pledge.”
