Nashville Florist Refuses Services To RNC; Blames Republicans For School Shooting

A Nashville florist refused to provide flowers for a Republican National Convention fundraising event, calling for stricter gun laws in the wake of the Covenant School shooting.
The FLWR Shop in Belle Meade was asked to provide floral design services for the event that would be held in mid-April. Owners say they “immediately declined” and then urged “others in the Nashville event industry to say no to taking money or jobs from the Republican Party until they begin to make the changes to gun laws that most Americans are calling for.”
Alex Vaughan and Quinn Kiesow, owners of the business, claim to “respect” the views of their conservative customers, but at the same time stated that the lineup of speakers for the event was “beyond our comfort level.” Former President Donald Trump, former Vice-President Mike Pence, Senator Marsha Blackburn, and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp were among those scheduled for the event.
The owners went so far as to blame Republicans for the recent shooting at Covenant Christian School.
In a statement posted on social media, the FLWR shop said, “At this moment, I cannot ignore the work the RNC has done to create this tragedy and so many others like it,” referring to the March shooting.
“The Republican Party has wasted taxpayer money and precious legislative will on banning drag shows, rather than assault rifles that are being used to murder children in their classrooms,” the statement continued, “We will not be accepting any of your money. The blood of the 3 beautiful babies we lost in Nashville is on that money.”
This comes as Governor Bill Lee has already signed an executive order requiring a more stringent, updated process for background checks done before individuals can purchase firearms in Tennessee.
“I’m asking the TN legislature to pursue a new ‘Order of Protection Law” to separate dangerous individuals from firearms, while preserving constitutional rights,” Lee tweeted.
There is irony in the fact that Conservative business owners have faced harsh criticism in the past for denying to provide services that violated their religious beliefs, with potential customers even attempting to bring lawsuits against those business owners for discrimination.

The RNC should sue them for discrimination; just like the leftists sue conservatives. It doesn’t matter to the libs whether they win or lose, they are abusing the legal system to intimidate. RNC needs to fight fire with fire.
Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. This was a planned kill by a deranged young woman. It was just that simple. Libs can’t accept that mentally people are the majority who pull the triggers on these guns. We have plenty of gun laws. We need mentally ill laws reinstated.
And to boot it was a lib.
So I guess they don’t sell flowers to Trans people either?
How about selling flowers to the Metro Police that used guns to STOP the mentally ill girl from killing more children?
What about those of us who keep guns to protect ourselves against crazy?

This was a typical opinion of a democrat/liberal owned small business. I can guarantee the majority of small businesses do NOT agree with these people. Always the minority ruling class coming up with that kind of garbage.
I agree with all of the comments previously posted. I am so sick of these idiots saying Republicans killed these children. I am a conservative, I own guns, I am not mentally ill, and I did not murder those children. I also do not believe in abortion. Oh, but wait. The Democrats/liberals kill babies. What about the murder of those innocent babies? Double standard much? The liberals need to clean up their own backyard before slinging mud our way. Sick people. No morals.
Our lawmakers NEVER stand up for law abiding citizens. There are very few who will stand up for us. We DO NOT need more laws. They need to work on stopping mental illness that is running rampant in this country. It begins in the elementary schools. Take a look around people. Homes are torn apart. God has been obliterated from schools. Put God back in schools. Put prayer back in schools.
Lawmakers should hire smart people to figure out a way to make the criminals pay retribution for murdering. Get help for mentally ill people. Quit picking on those of us who pay our bills, and get up and go to work everyday to make a living and feed our families.
