Cawthorn is an 8th generation resident of North Carolina’s 11th Congressional district, which is in the mountains of western North Carolina bordering Tennessee.

At 25, he is the youngest member of the 117th Congress.

“People of my generation realize that this is not just another election,” Cawthron said in a Starbuck campaign video. “The problem with our party is not that we have a bad message, it’s that we have bad messengers. That’s why it is my genuine pleasure to endorse my friend Robby Starbuck to represent the great state of Tennessee in Washington.”

Referencing Tennessee’s volunteers who defended Texas against an incursion at the Alamo, Cawthorn said, “I’m asking you to send another volunteer to Washington, D.C., to defend our nation against the incursion of socialism and communism that’s coming to take over our country, and rob the great freedoms that we have for the next generation. And that volunteer is Robby Starbuck.”

Starbuck is a director and producer who has worked with some of the biggest stars in film and music, and he has produced more than 1,000 projects at his company RSM.

Starbuck’s family fled Cuba as Marxism swept through the country. His knowledge of socialism, and how it is seeping into American culture through destructive ideologies such as Critical Race Theory, inspired his entrance into politics. He and his wife, Landon, have three children.
