The Tennessee Conservative [By Olivia Lupia] –

The America First Policy Institute’s (AFPI) Center for Election Integrity (CEI), a non-partisan research center focused on ensuring voting processes make it “Easy to Vote, but Hard to Cheat” for all elections across the nation, has recently released several “Fact Sheets” detailing the importance of citizen-only voting in 14 states, including Tennessee.

These sheets detail statistics on the number of illegal aliens in each state and how illegal votes can literally determine the outcome of elections, but also provides steps the state can take to help ensure only citizens are casting a vote.

In Tennessee’s report, it is noted that over 12 million “gotaways” have entered the country since 2021, with at least 140,000 of these illegal crossers residing in Tennessee, though the data from the Pew Research Center does not fully “account for the major influx of the last 3 years.”

With a population of almost 7 million people, these 140,000 illegal aliens account for approximately 2.026% of the state’s total population, giving Tennessee the sixteenth-highest population of illegals in the nation.

Though this percentage may seem small, its impact can change the outcome of close elections, particularly with the Biden-Harris Administration’s Executive Order 14019, which directs all federal agencies to register voters, including those that regularly interact with illegal aliens.

An example is given referencing an unnamed 2014 Tennessee ballot measure that passed with a margin of only about 72,000 votes, well below the number of illegal aliens residing in the state.

The report emphasized that “due to the failure of the Biden-Harris Administration to secure the border, states must work even harder to ensure that their elections are not compromised by illegal aliens casting votes,” and provides examples of some steps states can take to secure their elections with citizen-only voting:

–  A Governor’s issuance of an executive order modeled after the CEI’s carefully crafted policy example to enforce state election laws,

–  Legislation ensuring only citizens are voting, also based on sample legislation provided by the CEI,

– Regular voter roll maintenance to ensure transparency and accountability, and

– Voter support of ballot initiatives and candidates that will enshrine citizen-only voting in the state constitution.

These fact sheets are easily available for download and printing on the CEI website along with a slew of additional informational articles, op-eds, commentaries, and model legislation constituents or lawmakers can use as starting points for developing America-first laws and policies, all written or developed by election integrity experts.

The CEI site also displays a color-coded map comparing the security of voting laws to other states. The breakdown in establishing the security of a state’s voter protection laws examines three key factors that have been, “clearly acknowledged to make it harder to cheat:” photo ID requirements, laws against ballot harvesting, and ballots returned by election day. The state is then shaded in green, yellow, or red depending on their election integrity measures across these three benchmarks.

CEI analysis also considers other components in its rankings, for example, whether a state has, “banned private money given to local governments that was used unfairly, unequally, and politically on voter turnout in certain areas, otherwise known as Zuckerbucks.”

Illegal immigration remains one of the most critical issues for Tennessee voters, and conservatives across the state continue to press lawmakers to take decisive action to protect and secure both elections and the general public.
