U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) continues to work to protect the country from illegal immigrants.

Blackburn has joined with 13 other senators to introduce the Visa Integrity Preservation Act in an attempt to stop the granting of amnesty to illegal aliens who have not followed proper channels for being in the United States.

Immigration laws currently state that individuals who come into the country illegally are not allowed reentry at any time. Those who enter legally but do not leave when their visa expires are not allowed to return to the United States for up to 10 years.

They must also go through an in-person interview with the U.S. consulate, with only the Secretary of State being able to override this requirement in emergency cases.

The Biden administration announced in June 2024 that they would provide amnesty to more than 500,000 illegal aliens by waiving that in-person interview.

“Since day one in office, the Biden-Harris administration has made it crystal clear that they support an open border and providing mass amnesty to illegal immigrants through unlawful catch-and-release programs,” said Senator Blackburn. “Our Visa Integrity Preservation Act would stop the Biden-Harris administration from devaluing U.S. citizenship and making illegal immigration legal.”

The new proposal would change the Immigration and Nationality Act to state that individuals who come in illegally or who stay more than 180 days past their Visa expiration would not be eligible for a waiver of that interview. This would require them to leave the county for that interview and to reenter through legal means only.

Blackburn is also working with several other U.S. Senators to push the Better Enforcement of Grievous Offenses by unNaturalized Emigrants (BE GONE) Act.

The BE GONE Act would add sexual assault and aggravated sexual violence to the list of “aggravated felonies” in the Immigration and Nationality Act. Sexual offenders who are in the country illegally would be deported and would not be allowed to reenter.

“Led by Border Czar Kamala Harris, the Biden-Harris administration has left our southern border wide open to dangerous criminals and national security threats. Our Be GONE Act would ensure that illegal immigrants who commit sexual assault and aggravated sexual violence are deported to keep American citizens safe,” said Blackburn in a press release.

  1. Let’s NOT FORGET she was one of many votes that PUT BIDEN IN OFFICE because of cowardice and compliance with Pelosi. All her hot air about “doing something” is bs as it is just about OVER. NO THANKS to Marsha!
