The Tennessee Conservative [By Jason Vaughn] –
Senate Bill 2696, entitled the “Youth Health Protection Act”, would prevent healthcare providers from treating minors without parental consent, with exceptions for minors seeking treatment in certain situations. The bill has been placed on the Senate Health and Welfare Committee calendar for February 23.
The bill is sponsored by Senator Janice Bowling (R-Tullahoma-District 16). If passed, the Act would amend Tennessee Code – TCA Title 8; Title 9; Title 14; Title 33; Title 63; and Title 68.
