Police in Sevierville, TN, arrested Enrique Estrada-Martinez March 30 in connection with the pedestrian death of a 73-year-old man.

Enrique Estrada-Martinez was the country illegally and not licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the U.S. when he allegedly struck Henry Smith of Kentucky and left the scene. Smith was found dead on the road.
He’s charged locally with HIT & RUN CAUSING DEATH and DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE.
Estrada-Martinez has a history of motor vehicle violations, including a DWI conviction. He has a FINAL ORDER OF REMOVAL on the books, and he’s reentered the country illegally at least twice.

According to his rap sheet, he has prior arrests for:
—Driving without a license
—One-way-road violation
—Evading arrest
—DUI
—Felony reckless endangerment
—No proof of insurance
Estrada-Martinez was arrested by local police with help from ICE Knoxville officers. ICE issued an immigration detainer to prevent his release into the community — regardless of the outcome of this case.
