After an extended multi-agency operation, twenty-four individuals have been federally indicted for their connections to a huge drug operation based in Nashville with alleged ties to the Mexican Sinaloa Cartel that distributed dangerous substances including methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine throughout Middle Tennessee.

Officials announced the bust during a press conference last Wednesday which included representatives from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), FBI, Homeland Security Investigation, Tennessee Bureau of Drug Investigation Division, and numerous other state agencies.
Between September 2025 and September 2026, the Nashville Homeland Security Task Force seized more than 500 kilograms of methamphetamine, 60 kilograms of cocaine, 20 kilograms of fentanyl, over $375,000 in cash, numerous firearms, and five vehicles.
The 33-count indictment alleges the organization known as “the Office” moved substantial quantities of drugs while laundering millions of dollars in proceeds under orders from cartel leaders in Mexico. Prosecutors say the money was moved to the Mexico operatives who supplied the narcotics in the U.S. through bulk cash smuggling and other financial transactions.

Officials said at least two of the organization’s leaders were allegedly controlling operations while currently being imprisoned in the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) facilities, with the group relying on encrypted messages, couriers, and secret houses to keep trafficking operations running.
In a coincidental announcement, Federal Communications Chairman Brendan Carr stated the agency will vote next month on rules authorizing prisons to jam contraband cellphones as studies show almost 500,000 inmates have access to the devices and 25,000 phones are seized in jails annually.
“Inmates are using them at exceptionally high rates to order hits, run drug operations, enable CSAM abuse of young kids, and many more awful acts,” Carr said. “We are now giving state and local prisons & jails a tool they’ve been denied for years.”
All 24 defendants in the Nashville operation are charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, 400 or more grams of fentanyl, five kilograms or more of cocaine, and quantities of heroin and marijuana. Nine defendants are also charged with individual drug trafficking charges and firearm offenses, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Middle District of Tennessee.
Sixteen of the defendants are already incarcerated on unrelated charges, and prosecutors are seeking pretrial detention for all 24 offenders.

“This is one of the biggest drug busts I’ve ever heard of,” said DEA Special Agent Jim Scott.
And U.S. Attorney Braden Buzek said the number of drugs seized was “staggering”, agreeing that it was “one of the biggest drug busts I’ve ever been a part of.”
The joint investigation, which was spearheaded under the Homeland Security Task Force initiative, also included IRS criminal investigation, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, U.S. Secret Service, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee Department of Correction, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Metro Nashville Police Department, and Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia.
