The “Asbury Awakening” In America

No Fists Clenched In Rage, Only Hands Lifted In Worship. No Deadly Division, Only Inexplicable Unity. No Hatred And Blame, Only Introspection And Repentance, And Requests For Forgiveness. No Bodies On The Ground, Bruised And Beaten Into Submission, Only Those Willingly Surrendered, Sometimes Face-Down On The Floor, Before God. No Children On Metaphoric Sacrificial Altars, Only Those Wrapped In Loving Arms Of Mothers And Fathers, On Their Knees At Literal Wooden Altars, In Seeking And Submission, Prayed For By Strangers. Nothing On Fire, Only Human Hearts Burning With A Desire For Something Else, Something More. This Is Some Of What Has Been Going On At Asbury University In Kentucky For Almost Two Weeks.

As Evidenced In The 2022 Midterm Elections And The “Red Wave” That Turned Out To Be Nothing More Than Hyperbolic Swash, Republicans Do Not Have A Clear Message And Are Relying On Antiquated And Irrelevant Strategies That No Longer Apply To Global Politics. Conservatives – And This Does Not Include All Republicans – Are Not Going To Win Elections Unless Their Voter Acquisition Strategies And Campaign Messages Change. The Message Is Simple: It’s The Country, Stupid! If There Is Any Chance Of A Presidential Win In 2024, Conservatives Need To Change Their Messaging To State What They Are Going To Do For The Average American Citizen By Addressing Three Fundamental, Creator-Endowed “Unalienable Rights” Of Life, Liberty, And The Pursuit Of Happiness – The “Self-Evident” Bedrock Of The United States Of America As Outlined In The Declaration Of Independence.

One Year Ago Today, My Husband, Along With A Group Of 40 Others, Was Fired From BlueCross BlueShield Of Tennessee Over The Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate. Between October And November 2021, BCBST Terminated 41 Of Their Employees After Implementing A Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate For 900 “Customer Facing Roles.” Many Of These 900 Employees Who Were Not “Customer Facing” Were Full Time Telecommuters And Had Been Working From Home During The Entire Pandemic. The Livelihoods Of These 900 Employees Were Threatened If They Refused To Comply With The Vaccine Mandate. Out Of The 900, 41 Refused To Comply With BCBST’s Mandate And Were Fired From Their Positions.

Ours Is A Nation No Longer Troubled By Shades Of Red From Men Donned In Military Coats, Representing A Nation An Ocean Away, But By An Ominous Red Backdrop Against One Of The Most Revered Places In Our Nation’s History, Independence Hall.

The Constant Upheaval And Waves Of Change Over The Last Two Years Have Taken Their Toll On Many. Contents And Portions Of Lives Have Been Lost, Broken, And Some Necessarily Discarded. Nowhere Is That Seen More Clearly Than In The World Of Health And Medicine.

We Need Honest, Thoughtful, Humble Healthcare Providers. We Do Not Need And Can No Longer Tolerate, As A Society, Doctors Who Worship At The Altar Of Organizations Who No Longer Have The Best Interests, Health, And Well-Being Of Individual Patients At The Center Of Their Model.
