A now-former Madison County coach was arrested on charges of child sex crimes in Shelby County.
According to U.S. Marshals, 30-year-old Craig Nakutis was indicted earlier this month by a Shelby County Grand Jury for especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, solicitation of a minor, and aggravated statutory rape.

Memphis police requested the aid of the U.S. Marshals Service to locate Nakutis and take him into custody.
The Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force located Nakutis at his residence in the Cherry Grover Apartments in Jackson. He was arrested on July 22.
According to Fox13, Nakutis was a soccer coach for both the girls’ and boys’ teams at Jackson-Central Merry High School.
Nakutis was suspended from his position with Jackson-Madison County Schools on January 8 after district administrators were contacted by state officials.

“He has not been on campus since that date. His employment officially ended on May 22,” stated the district.
Marshals transported Nakutis to the Madison County Jail where he was placed on a hold, awaiting transport to Shelby County.
