Davidson County police arrested an illegal alien last month on charges of aggravated assault and failure to report an accident.

30-year-old Juan Antonio Chacon Hernandez was arrested on April 26 and booked into the Male Correctional Development facility.

Hernandez was charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as well as misdemeanor reckless endangerment, failure to give information or aid, and failure to file.

Court records now show that those original cases have been closed in General Sessions court, but Hernandez is now facing four charges in criminal court: felony reckless endangerment plus the original three misdemeanor charges.

He is scheduled to return to court on May 22 in front of Judge Cheryl Blackburn.

Inmate records show that Hernandez now has an ICE detainer and will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An immigrant detainer most likely means Hernandez is in the country illegally.
