Knox County police arrested an illegal alien over the weekend for driving under the influence and shoplifting.
36-year-old Nayker Jesus Sandoval-Bello was arrested Saturday, March 8 and charged with DUI: First Offense and Theft of Merchandise – Shoplifting.
Inmate records show that his bond was scheduled to be set.
On Sunday, March 9, an immigrant detainer hold was placed on Sandoval-Bello.
This means he will remain in custody until he is turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
An immigrant detainer likely means that Sandoval-Bello is in the country illegally.
