Illegal aliens were arrested in Davidson and Knox Counties recently for charges including domestic assault, DUI, and being a fugitive from justice.

Davidson County police arrested the following individuals:
27-year-old Gerald Josue Arauz-Betanco – arrested November 16
- Arauz-Betanco was charged with driving under the influence and driver’s license required. He was booked on a $3000 total bond.

20-year-old Alexander Velasquez-Perez – arrested November 17
- Velasquez-Perez was charged with being a fugitive from justice and was booked on a $250,000 bond. No further information was available on this charge.

35-year-old Oscar Garcia – arrested November 19
- Garcia was arrested and charged with domestic assault with fear of bodily injury. He was booked on a $1000 bond. He was previously arrested for domestic assault with bodily injury in 2022, but that case was retired.

38-year-old Harvin Samuel Canales – arrested November 19
- Canales was charged with driving under the influence and driver’s license required. He was booked on a $3500 total bond. He was previously charged with no driver’s license twice in 2016 but those charges were dismissed.

In Knox County, the following individual was arrested:
36-year-old Abraham Agundis-Mendoza – arrested November 17
- Agundis-Mendoza was charged with public intoxication and resisting stop/arrest/search. He was booked on a $500 bond.


Inmate records show that these individuals all have immigrant detainers.
They will remain in custody until they are released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
An ICE hold most likely means they are in this country illegally.
