More illegal aliens have found their way into Tennessee jails – including some repeat offenders – for crimes ranging from DUI to aggravated assault, domestic violence, and more.

24-year-old Marcos E. Choc was arrested in Davidson County on Saturday, July 19. He was charged with interference with an emergency call, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and two counts of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked with a $75,000 total bond. Choc was previously charged with domestic assault in 2024 and DUI in 2021, but those charges were all dismissed.

On Sunday, July 20, DCSO arrested 26-year-old Jhondei Javier Perez-Zamora on charges of assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and leaving the scene of an accident. Perez-Zamora was given a $13,000 total bond. Records show that he was also arrested earlier this month and has an open case for a charge of domestic assault for an incident that occurred on June 30.

42-year-old Marcelino Mucu-Chocoj was also arrested on July 20. Mucu-Chocoj is charged with driving under the influence, no driver’s license, and leaving the scene of an accident. He was given a $4000 bond.

In Knox County, 41-year-old Josue Carcamo-Palma was arrested on July 20 for DUI:First Offense and Driving without a License.

37-year-old Juan Carlos Ramirez Maymi was also arrested that day for DUI: Commercial Vehicle.

All of these individuals now show that they are being held on an ICE detainer. They will remain in custody until they are released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An immigration detainer hold most likely means they are in this country illegally.
