Law enforcement officials continue to work to arrest illegal aliens for criminal offenses including vehicular homicide, rape, domestic assault, and DUI/drug charges.

On August 10, 36-year-old Julio Cesar Herrera Gonzalez, a native of Honduras, drove his Maserati SQ4 into oncoming traffic on Bell Road in Nashville, striking a Nissan Rogue and killing passenger Raquel Lorena Sarabia Barajas and critically injuring her husband, driver Marco Antonio Baez Del Angel.

Gonzalez was granted temporary protected status in 2008, but that expired in 2015. He has since been in the country illegally. He is now charged with vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault, driving without a license, and driving under the influence. He was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the accident.

51-year-old Merlin Rene Argueta was arrested in Davidson County on August 22 and charged with two counts of rape, just days after he was added to Nashville’s “Top Ten Most Wanted” list.

He has a string of previous charges in Davidson County, ranging from domestic abuse to driving on a suspended license.

More recently, the following additional arrests have been made in Davidson County:

• 36-year-old Isaid Hernandez – Arrested 8/25/25 – Driving without a license

• 23-year-old Heissel M. Padilla – Arrested 8/25/26 – Driving without a license/misuse of registration. Padilla has prior charges including theft, possession/casual exchange, and misuse of a motor vehicle/joyriding

• 65-year-old Mahendrakumar P. Patel – Arrested 8/25/26 – 2 charges of domestic assault with bodily injury

• 25-year-old Felipe Perez-Perez – Arrested 8/25/26 – Probation violation/Driving under the influence (2nd offense)/Driving on a revoked license – Perez was previously charged with DUI on March 7, 2024

In Knox County, 39-year-old Jorge Manuel Lucas was arrested for aggravated statutory rape on July 11.

On August 25, 47-year-old Nahun Castellanos-Martinez was arrested for public intoxication.

All of the above named individuals now have immigration detainer holds.

They will remain in custody until they are released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An ICE hold most likely means they are in this country illegally.
