Illegal aliens were taken off the streets in Davidson and Knox Counties on charges including aggravated assault, DUI, and drugs.

Davidson County police arrested the following illegal aliens:
36-year-old Lesdia Karina Mendez-Avila – arrested August 17
- Mendez-Avila was charged with vandalism (over $1000) and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was found guilty of vandalism ($1000 or less) and domestic assault with bodily injury on August 24.
27-year-old Jose Orozco – arrested August 18
- Orozco was charged with violation of probation, driving under the influence (2nd offense), and driver’s license required. He was booked on a $9500 total bond. Orozco was previously convicted of DUI in February 2022.

32-year-old Robledo Carlos – arrested August 21
- Carlos was charged with domestic assault with bodily injury. He was booked on a $2000 bond.


Knox County police arrested the following illegal aliens:
32-year-old Luis Miguel Ventura-Moreno – arrested August 10
- Ventura-Moreno was charged with DUI (1st offense), driving on roadways laned for traffic, driving without a license, and driver to exercise due care. He was booked on a $10,000 total bond.

31-year-old Jesus Missael Samaniego-Cardoza – arrested August 17
- Samaniego-Cardoza was charged with manufacturing/delivery/sale of schedule II drugs (cocaine), unlawful possession of a weapon, driver’s license law, and evading arrest/flight in a vehicle. He was booked on a $129,000 total bond.

18-year-old Marcelo Baldemar Escalante-Rojas – arrested August 17
- Escalante-Rojas was charged with simple possession/casual exchange of marijuana, speeding, and driving without a license. He was booked on a $3250 bond.

18-year-old Luis David Martinez Morataya – arrested August 19
- Morataya was charged with violation of probation. He was booked without bond.

35-year-old Ariel Efrain Maldonado-Ruiz – arrested August 20
- Maldanado-Ruiz was charged with DUI (1st offense). He was booked on a $20,000 bond.

51-year-old Delmer Nectali Portillo – arrested August 22
- Portillo was charged with DUI (1st offense). He was booked without bond.

28-year-old Catalina Gonzalez – arrested August 22
- Gonzalez was charged with domestic assault. She was booked on a $1000 bond.

Inmate records show that these individuals currently have immigrant detainers and will remain in custody until released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
An ICE hold most likely means they are in this country illegally.
