An illegal alien has been charged in a hit-and-run accident that left a motorcyclist dead in Knoxville last week.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Anderson Josuan Perdomo Escobar was arrested on Saturday morning after locating him, along with his Nissan Altima which was involved in the accident, at his home on Dutchtown Road.
Arrest warrants show that the accident occurred at the intersection of Dutchtown and Bob Kirby Road. Police found debris consistent with the Altima at the site of the crash, and Escobar’s family provided security camera footage that showed him arriving home shortly after the time of the accident. He was also seen removing his license plate and moving the vehicle.
Escobar allegedly admitted to hitting the motorcycle and said he fled the scene because “he was scared.” He has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident knowing death resulted and tampering with evidence
