That’s just above the all-time low rate of 3.1% from three months in 2023 and the same 3.2% as March 2023.

The national rate is at 3.8%.

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce says that 10,600 nonfarm workers started new jobs across the state between February and March and the top sectors were leisure and hospitality, followed by the education and health services and then manufacturing.

Over the past year, nonfarm employment increased by 16,700 jobs.

The average weekly earnings of Tennessee workers dropped from $991.20 in February to $970.12 in March. Nationally, workers went from $1,103.32 average weekly earnings in February to $1,117.62 in March.
