Tennessee Unemployment Drops To 3.3%

Unemployment in Tennessee dropped to 3.3% for February after a slight rise in the seasonally adjusted rate a month before.

The rate is the same as in February 2023 and below the 3.9% rate nationally. The drop comes after increased unemployment rates in 93 of 95 counties in January.

County data for February will be released later this week.

Average weekly earnings rose from $972.40 in January to $987.53 in February, below the $1,101.30 national mark.

Nonfarm employment increased by 6,700 over the past year and 10,100 since January based upon a survey of businesses.
