This weekend, the Memphis chapter of a left-leaning group called Indivisible Memphis gathered on a bridge to protest a variety of causes and Senator Brent Taylor (R-Memphis-District 31) posted to his social media afterward in response.
“Every Friday, like clockwork, the Weathered Purple-Haired Hippies of ‘Indivisible’ gather on a single bridge to protest a variety of unconnected causes with various flags,” wrote Taylor. “It’s a solid crew—anywhere from 3 to 11, depending on who remembered to pack their Birkenstocks or brew their kale smoothies.”

Taylor took the opportunity to both respond to the Indivisible protestors and fill his constituents in on what he has been doing to fulfill his promise to “Make Memphis Matter.”
“While people actually work all week because their families matter, I’ve been Making Memphis Matter by working with TDOT to repair and repave that section of 240,” Taylor wrote. “It will allow more drivers to see their silly-ass signs and not have to dodge potholes. Just look! It turns out the purple-hairs and Senator Taylor are working together! Also I should mention, I’m actively involved in getting even more homeless encampments removed, and getting trash cleaned up on the highways – more to come!).”
Taylor then went on to share what he calls “the funny part” of this weekend’s commotion.
“I parked nearby and snapped pics of [the protestors’] ‘eco-warrior’ rides: 80% Subarus, because nothing screams ‘systemic oppression’ like a 2005 Outback with 300k miles and bumper stickers screaming ‘Coexist,’ ‘Meat is Murder,’ a ‘Mexican flag,’ a ‘Trans flag,’ a ‘vagina giving the middle-finger,’ and ‘Honk if You Hate Capitalism’ (ironically, right next to the ‘I [Heart] my Prius’ from the one guy who upgraded),” said Taylor. “One even has a faded ‘Bernie 2016’ sticker—talk about commitment to the looney-left! If these cars could talk, they’d beg for a car wash and a day off from all the virtue-signaling.”
While the tough-on-crime lawmaker receives backlash from groups like Indivisible Memphis on the regular, he continues to meet these efforts with a noteworthy sense of humor.
“While I work to #MakeMemphisMatter, remember that I deal with the crazies so YOU don’t have to!” the senator said in another social media post. “Seriously, who’d have thought demanding more from those in our justice system and saying the majority of us law-abiding citizens shouldn’t have to deal with the level of crime, trash, and potholes would bring out the crazy. Well, it does!”
“Some of these Woke-A**folks are nuttier than a porta-potty at a peanut festival,” Taylor continued. “Too bad for them, I don’t intimidate easily, and I’m just getting started! We have a city to save.”

Memphis is SERIOUSLY dangerous. Don’t go unless you must and if you must go, carry a gun and watch your back – the killers will sneak up behind and shoot you in the back of the head. That’s what they did in 2018 to the President of the Memphis Chamber of Commerce. A random murder. Google > “President of the Memphis Chamber of Commerce murder” and you can read about it.
If you want a cheap house, you can get one in Memphis because people are scared to live there.
Memphis needs a good dose of Jesus and reality.
The left has had a death grip on Memphis since LBJ stated that he would have the [black] vote for signing the Civil Rights Act (which he fought and had no part in the writing thereof) into law following the assassination of JFK. Then, the CRA was not used to help but enslave further the the black community[ies] under blind devotion with no true results. The demonrats have exploited the Memphis communities because the left needs poverty, crime, welfare, hate, and unrest to stay in office. If the community leaders pushing for this weren’t bought off, perhaps Memphis would WAKE UP.
