Tyson Looks To Hire “Refugees” And Bring Them To Tennessee, While Axing Jobs For Americans

Update 3.19.24: A Tyson Foods spokesperson issued a statement after reading our article (published this morning). You can read their response at the bottom of the article.

The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –

Tyson Foods is looking to hire thousands of “refugees” and bring them to work in Tennessee, all while axing jobs for Americans across the United States.

Not only is the world’s second-largest meat processor hiring those waiting on asylum hearings – a process that takes anywhere from five to seven years – but they are offering incentives for those willing to work in Humboldt, the Tennessee plant that Tyson opened three years ago.

These incentives include stipends for temporary housing and relocation expenses, time off to “acclimate” to the area, child care on-site, transportation, and Paid Time Off for immigration court hearings.

According to the company, Tyson has partnered with an organization called Tent Partnership for Refugees, committing to hire 2,500 people yet to have permanent legal status in the United States.

However last week, Bloomberg reported that Tyson was looking to employ tens of thousands more. The company already employs 42,000 immigrants and Human Resource Leader Garrett Dolan reportedly said, “We would like to employ another 42,000 if we could find them.”

According to Bloomberg, Tyson officials hired seventeen asylum seekers for it’s Humboldt plant – hailing from Colombia, Mexico, and Venezuela – in February after meeting with some of them in New York. They later hired seventy more.

Because United States authorities cannot keep up with the flood of illegal aliens entering at the southwest border claims of asylum from illegal immigrants that may be weak or baseless are not immediately screened and instead these “refugees” are let in, and given the ability to work legally while they go through the asylum process. In the last ten years, most who enter illegally and express fear are able to pass an initial screening, sending their cases on to U.S. immigration courts. Out of those, maybe twenty percent end up actually being granted U.S. asylum.

Tyson aims to retain their immigrant workforce having pledged $1.5 million in legal aid both last year and this year.

While the company seeks to hire more immigrants long-term, six plants have been shut down over the last year. The most recent closure to be announced affects a plant in Perry, Iowa employing over a thousand workers. In a town of eight thousand, the plant’s closure is sure to negatively impact the local economy.

Tyson has said that such closures are completely unrelated to the Tent program and hiring immigrants.

Tyson is hardly the only big-name brand working with the Tent program to welcome illegal aliens into their companies as paid workers, workers who are statistically likely to fail to prove their cases in court. A list of members of other companies can be found HERE.

Following this article being published, a spokesperson for Tyson Foods issued this statement:

In recent days, there has been a lot of misinformation in the media about our company, and we feel compelled to set the record straight. Any insinuation that we would cut American jobs to hire immigrant workers is completely false.

Tyson Foods is strongly opposed to illegal immigration, and we led the way in participating in the two major government programs to help employers combat unlawful employment, E-Verify and the Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers (IMAGE) program.

Since being founded in 1935 in Arkansas, Tyson Foods has created jobs and employed millions of people in states all across America, the majority of whom are American citizens. Today, Tyson Foods employs 120,000 team members in the United States, all of whom are required to be legally authorized to work in this country. We have a history of strong hiring practices, and anybody who is legally able is welcome to apply to open job listings.

What a bullshit response by the PR flak. The problem is that our government is the biggest human trafficker in history! It is promoting an unheard of invasion of a sovereign nation by hordes of unvetted, military age single men, many of whom are from nations that are enemies of the United States, at least outwardly! If this isn’t treason, what the hell is?! With weasel words like “to help employers combat unlawful employment” and “all of whom are required to be legally authorized to work in this country”, we know that they are in bed with a corrupt government that has legalized the invasion of our country. WAY past time to straighten this out, starting on November 5 with the greatest election landslide in our history in favor of Trump and the MAGA Patriots!

    Thanks Paula – good article.
We should Bud Light Tyson and Gov. Lee PLEASE don’t give Tyson any incentives. In fact, tax them extra. They are going to put Tennesseans out of work which will cause them to apply for government benefits.

There are some remedies on the local levels. Number one is to stop buying Tyson products. Number two is to force Tyson to use e-verify for every employee. Number three increase inspections to the point of them screaming harassment then doubling down. Number three, enforce huge fines for anyone renting or selling property to anyone with out a current, verified green card. The construction trades are as guilty as Tyson. Clamp down on illegals working on construction. Last but not least, come election day, throw all the bums out and start fresh. While we’re at it, force term limits on legislators.

Government is so enamored of huge companies and their financial reach its appalling at how many public officials become token executives after their green check days.

When Barry Hussein moved thousands of somalian “refugees” into Nashville, they were bussed every day at our expense to Murfreesboro to work for Tyson. Maybe Tyson should just move their operations to Mexico since they love illegals. These people are NOT migrants, they are invaders and why is rino lee helping to destroy Tennessee? Boycott Tyson!

My source for this is only some Instagram posts that I’ve seen recently, but Tyson is apparently ramping up their new line of “meats” made of insect and another line made with lab-created “meats”. No more chicken nuggets or pressed meats. It’s getting weird.

Why is this scene as a bad thing? These corporations/companies perhaps should be commended on hiring individuals who want to work. Ideally, they should seek out and hire Americans first. There are thousands, tens of thousands of American citizens with various circumstances, such as that, they would love employment with many of these corporations. Apparently training and such is offered, and many American citizens could benefit. Furthermore, why is it a bad thing for them to hire immigrants? Those seeking jobs at these corporations are showing that they want to work and be honest citizens or wish to become honest tax paying citizens. The majority of these immigrants are seeking to work and live the American dream and contribute in various ways to the American economy. In general, just IMO, I feel that this is a win-win situation for all. But, yes, please, to the corporations, Higher first many of the Americans that are seeking work and for one reason or another are not evil to get hired due to various factors. But if they wish to work and can, these corporations should be lauded if they do have programs to hire Americans who seek jobs, and also are willing to hire and train immigrants that wish to become responsible citizens .

RW – U really dont see the forest before the trees. This is exactly how Tyson does it business. How many years has Tyson been fined for illegal workers in places such as Georgia??? I can think at least as far back as the 80s. U obviously don’t live in Humboldt, TN. When this factory was built here it was suppose to be the savior for this area. The average Humboldt citizen is middle to low income black and Senior Citizen AMERICANS !!! Most Humboldt citizens are some sort of assistance already.

This is a small town. There are no available apartments or houses to put these ALIENS in! There is no bus service! There is no HOSPITAL in Humboldt! Only a couple mom & pop clinics. City services are at a minimum. The Police Force is minimal. There is only fast food, a pizza shop, 2 Mexican & 2 Chinese restaurants. Nearest Catholic Church is a 30 min drive to Jackson. Don’t need to go on with this line of conversation. U get the idea.

Knowing all this I ask U- – Why would U consider this a WIN-Win for everyone??? This Tyson facility helped many to get off of SNAP. It appears those who are employed currently at the Humboldt facility will have to again apply for federal assistance. Who pays for that??? Oh yah – – U do! So it this really a WIN-WIN????
