The Trump Vance campaign recently pointed out that though Kamala Harris said a lot of words in her DNC acceptance speech — most notable was what she didn’t mention:

  • Kamala didn’t mention inflation, which reached the highest level in three decades and ravaged Americans’ finances during her tenure — aided and abetted by her tie-breaking votes that even liberal economists admit drove prices to record highs.
  • Kamala didn’t mention Laken Riley, Rachel Morin, Jocelyn Nungaray, or any of the countless, innocent victims of Kamala’s border invasion.
  • Kamala didn’t mention illegal immigration, which has reached record levels amid her open border policies as she pushes mass amnesty and giving illegal aliens free, taxpayer-funded health care, college, and more.
  • Kamala didn’t mention fracking, which she has repeatedly pledged to BAN.
  • Kamala didn’t mention the crime crisis, with violent crime up almost 25% across 66 major U.S. cities and three of the four most murderous years in the last quarter century under her leadership.
  • Kamala didn’t mention her tax plan, which calls for the largest tax hike in American history.
  • Kamala didn’t mention the American Dream as the cost of homeownership hit its highest in three decades during her tenure.
  • Kamala didn’t mention energy, oil, and gas, as she calls for decimating the American energy industry in her pursuit of a no-growth energy agenda.
  • Kamala didn’t mention trade after she opposed President Trump’s landmark USMCA deal that created thousands of auto jobs.
  • Kamala didn’t mention education amid chronic absenteeism, mental health crises, and failing test scores during her tenure.
  • Kamala didn’t mention job growth, which has gone almost entirely to illegal aliens during her administration.
  • Kamala didn’t mention the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, which cost the lives of 13 U.S. service members and fortified America’s enemies.
  • Kamala didn’t mention the 300,000+ migrant kids who have gone missing — many likely sold into sex and labor trafficking — during her reign as Border Czar.
  • Kamala didn’t mention fentanyl, which is flooding across the border in unprecedented numbers and ravaging American communities.
  • Kamala didn’t mention the Constitution, while she seeks to restrict Americans’ constitutional rights — including the right to bear arms.
  • Kamala didn’t mention China, which has been increasingly emboldened amid her weakness.
  • Kamala didn’t mention antisemitism, which has reached crisis levels and roiled college campuses as she attempts to appease her far-left voting base.
  • Kamala didn’t mention poverty or homelessness, which have increased during her term.
  • Kamala didn’t mention her socialist, job-killing Green New Scam.

Kamala did, however, mention President Trump by name at least a dozen times — and indirectly referenced him many more.

Her speech was the perfect example of what happens when you have no solutions to offer for the problems you’ve delivered to Americans’ doorsteps, so you gaslight and deflect.

When Kamala Harris entered the race, the Trump Vance campaign predicted that she would get a bump in the polls, aka the “Harris Honeymoon”. We said, “The honeymoon will be a manifestation of the wall-to-wall coverage Harris receives from the MSM. The coverage will be largely positive and will certainly energize Democrats and some other parts of their coalition at least in the short term.”

We’ve certainly had a front row seat to the “honeymoon.” In fact, the Media decided to extend the honeymoon for over 4 weeks now. The respected Media Research Center recently released an analysis of the media coverage of Kamala Harris and President Trump since Joe Biden dropped out. Their study found that 84% of the coverage of Kamala Harris was positive while 89% of the coverage of President Trump was negative. But even after all the fawning coverage of Harris and negative coverage of President Trump, we find this race fundamentally tied, particularly in the battleground states going into the DNC.

However, post-DNC we will likely see another small (albeit temporary) bounce for Harris in the public polls. Post-Convention bounces are a phenomenon that happens after most party conventions. In 2016, President Trump and Hillary Clinton both got an average 2-point bump after their conventions. Back in 1992, Bill Clinton got an 8-point bounce, while that same year, George H.W. Bush got a 5-point bounce. While they vary, the usual range is somewhere between 1 and 4 points according to a report by 538.

So don’t be surprised to see Harris get a temporary 2 to 3 point bump.

But when you see this bounce remember that in 1988, Gallup had Michael Dukakis up 17 on then-Vice President Bush in the immediate aftermath of the DNC. Most polls had John McCain up 2 to 4 points on Barack Obama in 2008 the week after the RNC. In 2016, Hillary Clinton was up 7-points on President Trump after her convention in the RCP average. We all know how those ended up. These bumps do not last.

The other thing to keep in mind is that while the media is going to focus on the national polls, we need to keep our eye on the ball – that is the polling in our target states. Our goal is to get to 270 and winning these states is how we do it. We’ll let the media make mountains out of molehills, while we keep driving forward, sticking to our winning plan of getting President Trump re-elected.
