The Tennessee Conservative [By Adelia Kirchner] –
An illegal immigrant from El Salvador or a “Nashville man” as the mainstream media outlets are calling him is now behind bars after allegedly confessing to law enforcement that he sexually assaulted three girls under the age of eighteen.
57-year-old Oscar Armando Lara was booked into the Downtown Detention Center in Nashville on Friday, September 26th.
According to records from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Lara is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery of a minor under the age of 13 and one count of sexual battery without consent.
U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN-District 5) posted to social media and shared that Lara had already been previously deported from the country.
“A previously deported illegal alien from El Salvador admitted to molesting 12-year-olds in Nashville for FIVE YEARS,” wrote Rep. Ogles. “The media is calling him a ‘Nashville man.’ The only thing ‘Nashville’ about him is that Freddie O’Connell is fighting to keep illegals like him in the city. Send in the Guard.”
Lara allegedly admitted to the sexual assaults on Friday but arrest affidavits show that his crimes against minors go back several years.
Arrest documents dictate that back in March of 2020, Lara allegedly assaulted a 9-year-old girl, touching her inappropriately after calling her inside from playing with other children.
The girl allegedly informed her parents and said Lara told her “not to tell anyone what he was doing to her.”
She was interviewed by the Nashville Children’s Alliance a few weeks later and “corroborated all statements she previously made.”
The other two of Lara’s victims were sisters. Allegedly, the first sister was assaulted during summer of last year when she was only 12-years-old.
The girl said Lara, who was 56-years-old at the time, “made her sit down next to him and then began rubbing her leg.”
The grown man then grabbed her chin and began kissing her face according to WSMV’s account of the arrest affidavit, which added that he used his tongue and the girl pushed him away.
Lara went on to allegedly assault the girl’s 17-year-old sister in June of this year.
He “touched her inappropriately and attempted to kiss” the 17-year-old when her family stayed with him while their dad worked around the Nashville area.
Once the younger sister heard her older sister’s story of what happened, she brought up her account of the year before.
The affidavit states that the younger sister “corroborated all statements she previously provided to detectives” when interviewed at a children’s advocacy center in Michigan this August.
Then on Friday of last week, Youth Services detectives interviewed Lara at the Metro Nashville Police Department headquarters.
“During the interview the defendant made admission to the incident that occurred with this juvenile victim,” the affidavits read regarding all three reports of sexual assault.
Lara’s bond has been set at $115,000 and a court date was scheduled for Wednesday, October 1st.
He is also on an immigration detainer hold, which likely means he will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
