I was looking for a Christmas message on You Tube, however, I have sat through about 50 years of Christmas messages and I wanted something unique!

Just then, a message from the late pastor of Time Square Church in New York, David Wilkerson, popped up on my feed. The title was, “The Hypocrisy of Christmas.” Well, there is something I never heard of! I listened and the things he shared, caught me off-guard.

He spoke of the hypocrisy of the season and the grief it must cause God’s heart.

He spoke of how generations, adore the infant Jesus but what little to do with the man. How we worship Him in the crib but not on the throne!

He mentioned that baby Jesus is no threat, makes no demands, he didn’t call out sins. As an adult, he preached against those who professed faith but their lives did not back up their words. He called them hypocrites. He threw the money changers out of God’s temple for using God’s home for personal profit.

He spoke to the fact that many Christians today cry out about no prayer in schools, and said, “Do you pray at home with your family?” He said Christians are upset about not having the Ten Commandments in school; and asked, “Do you have God’s law written on your heart?” And, “Are you obeying everything He taught? (Matthew 28:20?”)

He spoke of how Christians cry out for religious freedom, yet, do we attend services regularly? How much time do we give to the study, meditation and memorization of God’s word in our lives?”

He said, we sing, “Come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.” But, “Is He Lord of our time, our finances, of the words we speak to and about others?” He said, “It is hypocrisy to sing about this, yet not surrender our entire lives to His Lordship.”

He ended with this stunning statement, “God will accept no adoration except that which starts at the crib but must climax at the cross.”

Perhaps you have grown up in the church or have professed faith but the Lordship of Christ is not real in your life. May I make a suggestion that changed my life. A small booklet about 30 pages entitled,”My Heart Christs Home by Robert Boyd Munger. It is simple but powerful. It can be found on Amazon or other places.

  1. Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…

Jesus was born 5th of Tishrei, which was Tuesday, 7 October this year.

Birthday celebrations are of pagan origin. The 2 described in the Bible both ended with beheadings. Pharaoh’s birthday, described in Genesis 40:20, ended with Pharaoh’s butler beheaded and Matthew 14:6–10 and Mark 6:21–27, ends with the beheading of John the Baptist. There’s also a mention in Job 1:4.

Tammuz (also known as Dumuzid or Adonis) was a pagan fertility god linked to the cycle of life and death, and his birthday is traditionally celebrated on December 25th.
