Original article:

In what is described as “blatant disregard” for parents, a video played last week in a Wilson County classroom suggests that conservative parents are wrong for wanting to shield their children from the sexually explicit content found in books in their school libraries.

In the introduction of the video, Myles Bess – journalist and host of Above the Noise YouTube channel – says, “But a lot of books, especially those that feature LGBTQ youth or talk about the impact of racism, are getting banned. Parents and politicians argue it’s to protect their kids from content they think is too mature or even harmful. But what if you are LGBTQ or a person of color and these books reflect your lived experiences?”

Parents in Wilson County have said that they are not trying to “ban” books, but protect children from oversexualization.

Wilson County parents have submitted several books to the county’s review committee that contain overtly sexual or other mature themes. The same content would be rated R, PG-17 or NC-17+ if found in a movie.

Earlier this year, Wilson County’s review committee recommended that one of the books, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison be kept in Wilson County High School libraries. The novel tells the story of an eight-year-old girl who is raped by her father. It recounts actual sex acts from the viewpoint of the pedophile.

All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson, described as a “memoir-manifesto” is also available on the Mature Reading List.

Johnson, named as Honorary Chair for Banned Books Week 2022, has said, “My blackness is everything because I believe that blackness is inherently queer.” His book covers topics such as gender identity, sexual abuse and his sexual awakening with a male cousin.

The video that Wilson County students watched asks “how do we protect students and children while making sure they see themselves in books?”

Conservative parents in Wilson County say that representing minorities to minors in public schools should be done without including extreme sexually explicit material.

The American Library Association (ALA) is promoting “Banned Books” this week.

“This is a dangerous time for readers and the public servants who provide access to reading materials. Readers, particularly students, are losing access to critical information, and librarians and teachers are under attack for doing their jobs,” says Deborah Caldwell-Stone, director of ALA’s Office for Intellectual Freedom.

According to the ALA, “Books are still being banned and challenged today. A challenge is an attempt to remove or restrict materials, based upon the objections of a person or group. A banning is the removal of those materials.”

Out of the top ten list of most challenged books in 2021, half are available in Wilson County schools.

Kids are falling behind in math and literacy skills at an alarming rate, yet they think there’s time to work this crap into the curriculum? It’s next to impossible to “shield” kids from this stuff, and I’m guessing probably 90% of 10 year olds have seen hardcore porn videos, but when our academic standards are dropping, the focus needs to be on THAT!

Our children do not need teachers in our schools teaching or providing sexual pornography, perversions, fetishes and degeneracy lessons or books/videos! Homosexuals are mentally ill. Some may not be dangerous but all are sick. Transgender/gender dysphoria is serious mental illness and shows delusional thinking and detachment from reality. All of this, is topics for parents and clergy together, talking to children about, not school teachers or any government figures. Some of them should not even be allowed alone with children if they are delusional, gender confused/trans or grooming our children with their sick sexual perversions. No book that suggest CRT or Transexual ideology is proper in primary schools or in universities, outside of graduate work on mental/social phenomena’s. Teachers of our children should stick to the subject matter of basic education and leave their politics, sex life and perversions at home. Non denominational prayer to the Judeo /Christian God of our founders should begin every morning at schools. Our rights are derived from God as our fore fathers aptly noted in our founding documents! If you do not love this nations constitutional republic you should leave. The constitution includes freedom of religion , not from religion.

Amen! I am in total agreement with you. This is happens when schools are run by the federal government. Especially by a perverse administration as we have now. That bow down to their sick gods.
In God we trust not government or man.
      Have a blessed day.

It would help if people would get involved with the legislators, emailing and calling when these bills are attempted to STOP this!! The HB1944 was stalled in committee to halt obscenity in schools. EDUCATION IS EXEMPT FROM OBSCENITY LAWS. Time for the PEOPLE to do something with their reps!!!! And yes, I was there talking to MINE and the others to try and help stop this. You know who they were fighting?? The LEFT and the Library Assoc. When HB1944 first started traveling through committee I called and the wonderful Rep. Chris Todd said NO ONE FROM THE RIGHT HAD CALLED. But PLENTY of the left. Conservatives are lazy and complacent. At least the majority are. Stop waiting for “someone else” to do all the work.

Sexuality is for adults to discuss and not for teachers and other school staff to cram down the throats of young children who can be controlled by any figure of authority. This has not a thing to do with race.

These people are simple enough pedophiles who want children to think homosexuals and transgenders are their friends so they can have their way with them.

Our children are becoming more ignorant and unskilled as schools push this TRASH agenda to poison the minds instead of what going to school was meant for!

Gov Bill Lee’s dynamic duo of Skrmetti & Schwinn sure are hard to find
Personally if I had kids in one of these school districts I’d file criminal charges at the county sheriff’s office against every school board member, every principal & teacher individually by name known to support pedophilia & pornagraphy for children
There has to a statute re: subverting the parents, encouraging children to lie
