Dr. Denise Sibley has stepped down as Chair of East Tennessee Freedom. The organization was co-founded by Sibley and Danielle Goodrich as Johnson City Freedom in response to the threats to liberty during the Covid-19 shutdowns.
Goodrich is currently serving as the firebrand chair of the Washington County Republican Party.
Sibley is widely known for her activism on medical freedom and crusade to stop vaccine mandates. She is also famous for persuading the Tennessee Legislature to make Ivermectin available without a prescription, a first in the nation.
Sibley’s Ivermectin legislation was sponsored by the late Frank Niceley (R-Strawberry Plains) in the Tennessee Senate and by Representative Susan Lynn (R-Mt Juliet) in the House. Senate Bill 2188 by Niceley and companion House Bill 2746 by Lynn was signed into law on April 22, 2022.
The resulting Public Chapter 908 permits participating pharmacies in Tennessee to provide the drug without a prescription. It does not require pharmacies to sell the drug.
Sibley is also known for her legislative work on geoengineering and other cutting-edge issues, which she addressed in her speech to East Tennessee Freedom on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Through her work in the trenches of the legislature and medical field, she has earned the respect of grassroots activists, legislators, and liberty minded citizens across Tennessee.

Dr. Sibley will continue her work with East Tennessee Freedom but not serve as its chair.
