Haile Cabal Off And Running With False Attacks

Chris Spencer For State Senate Press Release –

It’s a dark day in District 18 politics as the very close associates of “Frantic Ferrell” have unleashed a series of false assertions about Chris Spencer, Haile’s Republican opponent in the District 18 State Senate primary.

Under the guise of a Statewide Political Action Committee (McPAC, the MC refers to Lt. Governor Randy McNally) run by Rachel Barrett, another local PAC shakedown artist, thousands of mailers have been showered into District 18 making false claims about “Frantic Ferrell’s” opponent, Chris Spencer. (BTW, this corrupt PAC also gave “Frantic Ferrell” $20,000 in the past four reporting periods.)

These falsehoods, bordering on slander, state that Chris Spencer “refused to pay his federal taxes for more than five years and was issued five liens”.  

“This is the kind of campaigning we expected out of the “Friends of Haile”,” responded Spencer, “When you have a horrible voting record to defend, your only course of action is to dig through your opponent’s garbage looking for something to run up the flagpole.”

Spencer continued:

“Our campaign has been focused on policy and our opponent’s record. We have no personal animosity toward Haile and would never stoop to attack his person in this fashion. This is just the first ‘volley of desperation’ we are seeing. It makes us sad that these kinds of attacks draw the voters’ attention away from what really matters.”

“As most know who have researched my past, I am an independent businessman, working for decades in the field of collegiate athletics.  As many millions of Americans I have had the displeasure of dealing with the IRS.  Nearly 15 years ago we were assessed penalties and interest on some items such as giving too much to non-profits (We exceeded the limits on some of the years in question).   We also were denied other deductions. We felt these were unjust but nevertheless we eventually paid off every penny that was owed.  It is blatant false to claim I haven’t paid my taxes.”  

“These same people tried this smear campaign against Lt. Col. Courtney Rogers in 2012 and it blew up in their faces. Voters outsmarted the smear merchants then, and they will do it again in 2024.”
