The Tennessee Conservative [By Adelia Kirchner] –

An illegal immigrant was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and sexual battery after he allegedly attacked a woman on Thursday, May 16th, attempting to push her into a bathroom at a dessert and coffee shop in Nashville.

This alleged attack occurred at The Nashville Sundae Club in The Gulch.

According to the police report, the victim was on her way to the restroom when 23-year-old Nelson Yovani Ortiz-Ramirez allegedly grabbed the woman’s buttocks and started pushing her into the single-stall restroom.

The woman reportedly kicked the man and pushed him away enough to lock herself in the bathroom alone.

She then called her boyfriend who was able to take pictures of Ramirez before he ran off, allowing police to identify and arrest the perpetrator.

According to an affidavit, the woman said she was afraid Ramirez was going to lock them both in the restroom and rape her.

Ramirez was booked on eight charges that night including attempted kidnapping, sexual battery, public intoxication and evading arrest.

Identified as an illegal immigrant, Ramirez remains in custody on a $16,700 bond and is currently on a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“Fortunately, this brave woman was able to push Ortiz-Ramirez away and call the police. But this despicable incident would never have happened without your reckless and irresponsible open border policies,” reads a letter addressed to U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The May 23rd letter asking for answers about Ramirez’s immigration status and why he was permitted to remain in the country was signed by U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and U.S. Representatives Tim Burchett (R-TN-District 2), Scott DesJarlais (R-TN-District 4), Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN-District 3), Mark Green (R-TN-District 7), Diana Harshbarger (R-TN-District 1), David Kustoff (R-TN-District 8), Andy Ogles (R-TN-District 5) and John Rose (R-TN-District 6).

“Sadly, this incident is only the latest in a series of unconscionable acts by illegal immigrants who have entered our country,” the letter continues. “Last summer, an illegal immigrant in Franklin, Tennessee, was arrested after his co-workers discovered photos and videos on his phone of him raping and abusing unconscious children. And, in February, an illegal immigrant who had been released into the United States via parole under your watch is alleged to have brutally raped and murdered Laken Riley, a 22-year-old Georgia nursing student who lived in his apartment building.”

U.S. Sen. Blackburn and Tennessee’s Republican U.S. Representatives went on to call Secretary Mayorkas and the Biden Administration out, saying that if either party had actually been enforcing U.S. immigration law, “heinous” acts like these would never have happened.

The letter concludes by requesting that Secretary Mayorkas respond to the following series of questions by this upcoming Thursday.

1. Was the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) aware that Ortiz-Ramirez was in the country illegally?

a. If so, when did the Department become aware of his immigration status?

b. If so, please provide all documentation in the Department’s possession, custody, or control related to Ortiz-Ramirez, his criminal record, and/or his immigration status.

c. If not, why was the Department unaware of his immigration status?

2. Was Ortiz-Ramirez provided a Notice to Appear when he entered the country illegally?

a. If so, when was his court date and did he appear?

b. If not, why not?

3. Did the Department initiate any enforcement actions against Ortiz-Ramirez?

a. In responding to this question, please provide all documentation in the Department’s possession, custody, or control related to any legal proceedings or enforcement actions—or decisions not to bring enforcement actions—against Ortiz-Ramirez.

  1. If that would have been my wife, I would have found him long before the cops did.

  2. This why we all should carry a firearm and use it immediately when assaulted by these criminals . You can’t carry a policeman around in your pocket so lock and load . I would have shot this bustard on site if I would have caught him doing such a despicable thing . That would mean one less deportation and incarceration. Think of the money it would save taxpayers .

    1. I agree and would go even further. Any illegal act by one of these invaders should be punishable by instant termination. Enough is Enough
