The majority of conservative Tennesseans who participated in a recent poll want Governor Bill Lee to be held accountable for blindly following Anthony Fauci’s advice during the pandemic.
The Tennessee Conservative’s founder Brandon Lewis asked this simple question: “Should the Tennessee legislature call Bill Lee in front of it to ask questions about why he strictly followed Anthony Fauci’s advice and should he be held accountable for the financial and civil liberty penalties and the mental health penalties that him taking Fauci’s advice hook, line, and sinker cost Tennesseans?”
Lewis lays out what happened in Tennessee as a result of Fauci’s recommendations.
“Fauci had a handful of basic premises that Bill Lee followed to a tee. The first is some businesses and some organizations are non-essential, we’ll shut those down, and he did it, going as far as to cancel Thanksgiving and tell Christians that they were selfish for wanting to meet. So he checks that box. Well, what about the masks? Well he spent hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars promoting masks as being effective while kids were psychologically scarred in school having to wear that stuff for eight hours a day and people had to wear them and you can even still see the psychological damage, people wearing them outside, in their cars, in department stores. The vaccines, did he push those in corroboration with the corporations that funded his campaign? The answer is yes. And in fact we have lawmakers that signed letters urging people to take it. Social distancing, which was made up, which shut down many businesses and curtailed the revenue of others… When you cause that much economic and civil devastation to Tennesseans, the legislature should at least ask some questions. How did we get it so wrong? Never in Tennessee history has that much damage been inflicted by Tennessee state government on its citizens and we’ve not even inquired as to how we got there. Probably because the Tennessee legislature stood idly by while Bill Lee unconstitutionally mandated a bunch of executive orders that he does not have the authority to do but the legislature didn’t have the courage to stop. I think we need in Tennessee to closely examine why we did that and somebody should be held accountable for it.”
Lewis states that a special session ought to be held to fully investigate the matter, but “Republicans probably aren’t too keen to remind the public of what they did to us.”
“How were we duped so thoroughly?” asks Lewis. “How did every leader lose their courage and constitutional oath of office?”
While unofficial, the social media poll on The Tennessee Conservative’s X page indicates that almost 75 percent of respondents agree that Lee should have to answer for his actions and be held to account for the economic and civil damages caused to his constituents.

“He followed that terrible advice even eagerly and proudly. Friends who have connections and politics at the governors office tell me that he privately was not supportive but his advice and bureaucrats were encouraging him to aggressively shut down…”
“Guess he or any of his staff hadn’t the sense many of us do who saw thru the scam from the get-go. He needs to suffer what most of us did.”
“Yes. He held on to his “ Executive Authority” way to long!!! He never responded to Emails, phone calls, questions of any kind. I think he liked the power.”

“Yes, and it should apply to local governments from the mayor, to city/county officials that voted for these unconstitutional mandates. BUT…it will never happen because people have already forgotten, and haven’t learned from this huge government overreach.”
“How about the simple fact that Lee kept the “state of emergency” going over and over so he could keep getting those federal funds. He didn’t have the best interests of his constituents at heart at all.”

I blame the legislature. They did not want to take responsibility. They could have called a Special Session, considering it was an EMERGENCY.. but it lasted 22 MONTHS. Is that an “emergency?” No. They agreed, or worse, shoved off the responsibility onto Lee instead of answering to constituents who were afraid and divided, but worse PERSECUTED over restrictions. They are ALL to blame.
