Republican U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn released a statement announcing $2.7 million in contributions in the third quarter, more than doubling those raised by her opponent, Democrat State Representative Gloria Johnson.

Johnson announced on Wednesday that her campaign had raised $1.3 million in its first quarter, with donations coming from 25,365 contributions coming in from all 50 states and all 95 counties in Tennessee.

Blackburn noted that her third quarter total was a combination of funds raised by her campaign and the Blackburn Tennessee Victory Fund. Her Senate campaign now has over $6.5 million. She received 77,738 donations from all 95 counties and across the country.

In the statement, Blackburn’s camp says this shows that “Tennesseans are eager to re-elect Sen. Blackburn and that she remains well-positioned to win a second term.”

Johnson is one of the three Democratic lawmakers who was considered for expulsion from the State House of Representatives after she participated in a protest on the House floor in March of this year. She narrowly escaped being expelled by one vote from the committee.

Johnson now plans to try and claim the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Blackburn.

When announcing her bid for the seat in September, Johnson said, “Our grassroots team is full of Americans who are sick of corrupt politicians who only serve themselves and corporate special interests while they sell out the communities they were elected to serve.”

Blackburn continues to run for reelection on a campaign of conservative ideals.

“The conservative values and principles that define the Volunteer State are worth fighting for, and every donation helps us keep Tennessee red come next November,” Blackburn said.

While we don’t want Johnson, we’re not fans of Blackburn either.
Why? She failed to keep her oath when she voted on January 6th to certify Biden as president w/out taking the time to validate the votes.

    I concur
Especially since she invited ppl to come to our state capital to oppose state income tax and making no income tax part of our state constitution.
    Which is a good thing.
Many ppl showed up, property damage ensued.
J-6 she showed allegiance to Anaconda Mitch, not Tennesseans, as did Hagerty.
