Tennesseans React To Drag Queen Christmas Show Coming To Publicly Funded Knoxville Theater

The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –

The same Drag Queen Christmas Show that made a stop in Nashville at the end of November will be in East Tennessee on December 22nd at Knoxville’s historic Tennessee Theatre.

A Blount County resident shared the letter sent to Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs regarding the upcoming show:

I am not a resident of Knox County, although I am a frequent visitor from my home in Blount County. As a proud Tennessean, I feel I have a stake in “the official state theatre of Tennessee.” Accordingly, I am appalled that the degenerate show depicted in the attached article will appear at the Tennessee Theatre on December 22 as “all ages” Christmas “entertainment.” East Tennessee is the most conservative area of a conservative state. You are the most powerful county-wide elected official.

Surely you can do something to prevent this abomination from occurring. Some people contend it violates state law due to its proximity to a park. Some people contend that it constitutes obscenity in the presence of minors. Some people contend that it amounts to LGBTQ grooming. It is certainly disrespectful of the overwhelming majority of Christians in Knox County and East Tennessee.

The Tennessee Theatre receives public funding and should be reminded that such funding could be terminated if it persists with defiling Christmas with celebrations of perversion.

I would like to see a conservative leader emerge who would be a credible candidate for statewide office. You could be that person, or you could disappoint grassroots supporters who are looking for a champion.

“A Drag Queen Christmas” is open to minors – parental discretion is advised – just as it has been around the country where the show has already made an appearance. The Gateway Pundit exposed (be advised – the link shows video of some of the lewd content in the show) the version of the show performed in Austin, Texas, that leads conservatives to believe that the show could be considered obscene under Tennessee law, especially if performed in the presence of minors.

Tennesseans want appropriate action be taken to hold the performers and promoters of the event criminally liable if the sexually-explicit performance is allowed this week.

Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon has stated that she won’t interfere with the performance.

The City of Knoxville’s website states plainly states that they are working with the LGBTQ+ community to promote “a safe, accountable, inclusive and welcoming community so all Knoxville residents feel represented, respected and appreciated.”

Knoxville’s Chief of Police Paul Noel says there will not be any arrests.

Knoxville residents are contacting city council members and if the show is not canceled, plan to hold a candlelight vigil in protest to “pray and grieve” in front of the Tennessee Theatre from 6-8pm.

Gary Humble of Tennessee Stands said, “Honestly, it is a bit frustrating to have to devote any time to this whatsoever, especially during the Christmas season. For many families here in Tennessee, our focus is on Christ and the hope that he brings. This is a time of charity, spreading cheer to our neighbors, and worshiping together in anticipation of the One who changed everything. Yet, we know that the enemy is at work. And just as expected, libraries are not enough. Our schools are not enough. Public parks are not enough. No. Their lust has yet to be satiated. They want Christmas too.”

According to Humble, sources in Knox County state that Mayor Jacobs and Knox County Sheriff Spangler are sympathetic to the idea of stopping the show. However, the Knox County District Attorney has said that without the city’s involvement, there is nothing she can do. But should the County Mayor and Sheriff’s office move forward with any arrests, the District Attorney has warned that they could be brought up on charges of false arrest.

Earlier this year, members of the First United Methodist Church filed a request for injunction against the city of Jackson to suspend the “family-friendly” drag show portion of Jackson Pride. With the help of Republican Representative Chris Todd (R-Madison County-District 73) and Senator Ed Jackson (R-Jackson-District 27) the community was successful in getting the show moved to a location where attendance was restricted to adults only.

A Lenoir City resident who contacted The Tennessee Conservative with her concerns about the upcoming drag show and who has extensive background and education in childhood trauma, says that exposure to this kind of entertainment is detrimental to children.

“After working with foster children and the effects of trauma, in my opinion, any exposure to sexual content will create sensory overload in young children that they are not able to process, based upon their neurological development,” the former foster mother said.

Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson (R-Franklin-District 27) is sponsoring a bill for the upcoming legislative session that would prohibit children from attending drag shows within the state. SB03 would define male or female impersonators who provide entertainment of a sexualized nature as adult cabaret performers along with strippers and exotic dancers.

They call it diversity, inclusiveness and a whole host of other brain numbing bull excrement. What is really amount to is convincing our children, even young adult that this is acceptable, even desirable in society. It is not. Acts like this belong in Vegas or some other sleaze palace that is not funded by taxpayers.

I totally agree with you. These politicians, lawyers and law enforcement say there’s not much they can do about this. Yes there is. For starters the ones that swore to defend the Constitution [you know which of these professions had to do that] start defending it and quit being cowards. Because we will all have to stand before God. You deny God now and he will deny you. These so called men, dressed half naked and looking like deranged clowns. Performing lewd acts in front of minors is “all ages friendly”. Oh and let us not forget the parents that bring their children to these shows of perversion. They definitely need to their heads examined. Parents you can’t take your kids to a strip club because you have to be 18 to enter. Thats exactly what these are strip shows. If I or anybody else performed like these people do in public [which these people do] we would be arrested for indecent and lewd behavior. The Knox County District Attorney has the audacity to say “But should the County Mayor and Sheriff’s office move forward with any arrests, the District Attorney has warned that they could be brought up on charges of false arrest.” Really! There is nothing in the Constitution that protects indecent and lewd behavior in public. Here are a few Bible verses on this subject. These are God’s words.
      Deuteronomy 22:5 KJV
The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man Put on woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.
      1 Corinthians 6:9 NIV
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolators nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men.
      1 Timothy1:9-11 NIV
We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—-and for whatever else is contrary to the sound that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God.
In God we trust not government or man.
      Have a blessed day.

    Amen to Ralph Balch!
This is not diversity, it is sick entertainment for sexually immature folks.
I will abstain from going to the Tennessee theater again, for any legitimate shows, as long as they endorse such debauchery!

I would expect this in Portland, OR from where I moved to get away from the ongoing insanity. This is repulsive and frankly just evil. This is NOT something children should be exposed to. It is not family friendly and everyone – everyone – knows it. Anyone who would allow this when they could otherwise legally put a stop to it has been brainwashed into a kind of cult worship where being “inclusive,” and tolerant of everyone is how we all should live. From this stupidity, Portland is now a cesspool to live in, from having been acknowledged as one of the most beautiful cities in America years ago. This is only a slice of it but it is the story of the frog in the pot of warm water, who dies finally because he doesn’t realize it is being heated up to boiling. What now shall TN cities consider their boiling points? What really is the goal here, allowing filth like this to be in our schools and cultural arenas, advertised as good for all? Do you not see the lie, Mayor Kincannon? One does not have to be a Christian to call out obvious degradation for what it is. You first – not last – need to take a stand against this no matter what your reasons are for abdicating your leadership role. Shame on anyone having the power to stop this – all the time – who would yet allow it.

This is an absolute travesty to our children. I have reached out to Senator Jack Johnson’s office and was told that he has something on the docket to stop this. However, that will not stop what is supposed to happen in Knoxville on December 22nd.

I am shocked by any parent taking their children into this crap. This is pure evil, and they are trying to break apart the nuclear family and divide parents from each other and our children.

I left the State of California for this type of liberal indoctrination on our children and our GOD given rights. I will not let this stuff infiltrate the great state of Tennessee I have called home for the last few years.

I call myself a “Leftugee” for this exact reason.

We need to make sure more people in our state know what is happening behind the scenes and the power they are trying to get.

If a male dressed as a female spread his legs showing his crotch to children and dancing around happened randomly in a public place that man would be arrested but if it’s funded by tax payers that makes it okay? It’s disgusting to protect sexual predators like this taking advantage of children. What kind of human could feel good about acting this way in front of children? A sexual predator that’s who. 18 and older only anything else qualifies as a pedophile sexual predator

We have to stay with this. They are hoping we will just go away and let it continue. Let’s show them otherwise. See you on Thursday at 6 at the Tennessee

It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Or maybe God will just burn down the theater with all in attendance.

This is only the latest installment of this. If we sit back and let this “progress”, we are to be accountable for the next installment.

First of all, Knoxville is a “blue” city, while the surrounding Knox County is Red. Since the city of Knoxville is so progressive, there’s no reason for this show not to come here. It is totally sold out, so there is a demand to see the show. The Tennessee Theatre is not putting on this show. The theater was rented out by a private company and they are putting on the show. I watched the video of prior shows and saw the show live last year and there was nothing in it that was obscene. There are no drag queens grooming children at this drag show or at any other drag shows in the area. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine is if you don’t want to see this show, then don’t go. There’s no reason for anyone to protest because there is nothing wrong with this show. People that bought tickets want to see the show. Protest the priests and pastors that groom and molest children instead.

Of course you would say this is normal. By your comment, it sounds like you are part of this demented community of reprobate minds. Click on the link in the comment posted below. I think you are just a troll posting nonsense on a conservative site. Because if you click on the link it really contradicts everything you say.
