The Tennessee Conservative [Buy Olivia Lupia] –
As families gather during the holiday season, Christmas productions, plays, and musicals often take center stage for wholesome and festive entertainment. But this Christmas, audiences beware as it appears a Memphis theater group has chosen to debase a beloved classic.
According to our sources the Ballet Memphis, which presents many of its productions at The Orpheum theater, has supposedly cast a transsexual man to play the lead female Clara in some performances of this year’s production of The Nutcracker.
More than 60 children are also performing in this production, whose parents were not notified that a male would be dancing the lead female role.
As with many theaters and local arts communities, the Orpheum is primarily funded through ticket sales, but also utilizes other sources including donor support, corporate sponsorships, and fundraisers to supplement income. Government subsidies also play a large part in supporting the theater, which receives upwards of $100,000 annually from the city of Galesburg’s city hotel & motel tax.
Both the Orpheum and Ballet Memphis also partner with the Tennessee Arts Commission, a government-created commission designed “to stimulate and encourage the presentation of the visual, literary, music and performing arts and to encourage public interest in the cultural heritage of Tennessee.”
The Commission even has a specialty license plate through the Tennessee Department of Revenue program which donates a certain amount from each plate sold to the organization.
While the mission of public arts commissions and grants might have originally signaled noble intentions, it ultimately means that taxpayer funds in some form help subsidize and promote productions that place men in female roles and encourage the presence of children both on stage and in the audience.
This is also not the first time a male has been suspected of usurping a female role in Tennessee.
Earlier this year, Clarksville’s Roxy regional theater presented 9 to 5: The Musical, but allegedly faced some suspicion that one of the three female leads was played by a man. The Roxy also took some heat from the community when they supposedly featured a gay kiss in their 2022 production of White Christmas.
Relatedly, several city governments in Tennessee have come under fire for allowing public funds to be utilized in hosting gay pride festivals and performances and for public officials turning blind eyes or even endorsing the misappropriations of taxpayer dollars.
The Nutcracker is set to open Friday, December 13th, and according to the Ballet Memphis Facebook page, tickets are selling fast. We suspect viewers are in for a surprise that was not on their gift list this year.

Gross, repulsive, abomination in God’s eyes.
There was a time when men in drag was fun: think Klinger from M*A*S*H. It was an improbable juxtaposition to reality. He was simply a guy in a dress trying to get out of a war. But he knew where to draw the line, and wasn’t pretending to be anything other than a guy in dress. There are many folks today that think that the trans community is sort of like that. But it’s not. Its full of folks that are serious about their gender dysphoria and militant about being addressed and accepted “properly”. As if mental illness is some how supposed to be the new normal, widely accepted and even celebrated. Mental illness is a sickness. One that with proper care and nutrition can be treated. Not encouraged. Our tax dollars should not be used to fund this type of craziness.
The intro photo is great.

Does your source have proof? Or is it just “supposedly” true?
