The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –

One of the Republican candidates for the new 5th Congressional District was removed from the Tennessee Republican Party’s annual Statesman’s Dinner on Saturday. Tres Wittum who attended the fundraiser at Music City Center caused a disturbance by loudly addressing Lt. Gov. Randy McNally and Speaker Sexton Cameron as they took the stage.

Wittum is asking voters to send him to D.C. to “stand up against the political establishment and insiders” and has said that the “real pandemic” is career politicians.

Senator John Stevens escorted Wittum out of the ballroom, according to witnesses.

Wittum has worked alongside Senate Finance Chair Bo Watson for many years before deciding to run for Congress.

Sexton called Wittum’s actions on Saturday “out of character with the person we have interacted with in the past.”

“I think Mr. Wittum has had a bad week and compounded it at the Statesmen’s Dinner,” said Sexton in a statement. “Hopefully, it was just a one-time incident that he regrets, and we can all move past it.”

Wittum said in a statement to The Tennessee Conservative, “I’ve said many times in my speeches: when truth is challenged, you got two options, you either stand up and speak out, or you sit lower in your chair and hide. I’ve always had a habit of standing up and speaking out.”

Conservative voters should not waste their votes on No Record/No Chance Candidates who simply paid $25 bucks and got 25 signatures in order to get some thrill from seeing their name on the ballot. Not when we must keep former Democrat Gen. Weathervane from winning this contest. The best way to do that is to vote for the most conservative candidate who has run a well-funded serious campaign – Beth Harwell (ACU-86%).

You are a clown man… the whole point is to take out the establishment. People like Wittum are young brash and well spoken and have the ability to actually make a difference in Congress. Unfortunately, people in their mid 60’s have no reason to be a freshman Congressman. It’s really not a good look. No hate on Harwell, but DC is a young persons game in this political climate. She is more of a statesman elder than a gun slinger. Congressional campaigns are running every year in the summer. Harwell, has been a terrible campaigner and will never be effective in DC , their just going to run hard on her next year . How will she ever be able to effectively legislate.

Andy Ogles is the right candidate. Harwell will just be part of the go-along, get-along club. Let’s hope Starbuck’s write in campaign doesn’t dilute the Ogles vote too much, and cause a loss to Harwell.

Oh, Ogles is part of the go-along, get-along club too. Yes Man and Performer. He had an opportunity to free his entire county from incentivized Covid mandates, and he took a pass. Broke my heart.
