Vaccine Mandates Are Driving Tennesseans Out Of The Workforce

Recently, there has been a concerted effort by the State to get people back to work following the government’s response to COVID this year and last that resulted in shutdowns, business closures and layoffs across the state.

The State’s efforts to get people back in the workforce has paid off to some degree as Tennessee’s rate of unemployment has been on a decline since Governor Bill Lee made the decision to cut Tennessee off from receiving federal unemployment benefits.

However, due to Lee and Lt. Gov. Randy McNally allowing corporate-level vaccine mandates to be pushed on Tennessee workers, an increasing number of people are being coerced into taking the vaccines to keep their jobs or are losing their jobs due to their choice to practice their medical freedom.

Many Tennesseans have chosen to quit their jobs after receiving notice of mandated vaccines to dodge government overreach and to express their right to body autonomy.

“My husband quit a very good job because of the mandate. So thankful that we had been working to build our own business prior to all of this!,” Nicole Hughes said, “We feel absolutely horrible, mad and sad that so many are going to be affected by this overarching government.”

Cindy Shawver reports that her son left Tyson Foods recently due to the vaccine requirements.

Tony DiNatale reports that some businesses are requiring employees to get the vaccination even if they work remotely.

“I left a job that required the vax. I was 100% remote too, so that made no sense. I don’t need to be vaccinated to be on zoom!,” DiNatale said.

TD Cooper said, “My daughter has invested over $100,000 in her medical career and now she may have to abandon her dreams in order to stay safe from an overreaching government.  She had Covid-19 in January. She is exposed to the virus everyday she goes to work and hasn’t had a sick day since. There is no reason for the vaccine.”

Other Tennesseans have opted to take the vaccine in order to keep their jobs.

Rebecca Hinds said, “I had to take the vaccine against my will to keep my job.”

Joyce Grindstaff said, “Unfortunately, I took the vaccine to keep my job. I felt so violated…I wanted to quit. I work for the Veterans Administration and my heart is for the veterans.  I believe it’s a choice of each person and shouldn’t be forced on anyone!!! I feel as though I’ve committed an unforgivable sin….”

Carol Becker suggests that if workers choose to get the vaccine to keep their jobs, they should make note that it was received under protest.

“Not sure it will help ever, but if you have to sign anything in the process of being forced to take the vaccine add the words ‘signed under protest’ by your signature. It may help in future lawsuits?,” Becker suggested.

Stephanie Criswell reported that, “Caremark is making vaccines mandatory for work from home employees by Oct 31 or you will be fired. Even in WORK FROM HOME positions, where you never go into the office.”

Other Tennessee workers report that the companies they work for have not yet mandated the vaccine, but will most likely do so in the near future and when the companies do, the workers will choose to resign.

Josh Murphy states, “My place of employment; as of right now, is not mandating it. I work in law enforcement. There has been talk about it coming but nothing certain yet, just rumors. There are about 1/4 of the workforce, including myself, that will quit or be fired before taking the vaccine. The ones that are military are saying that if they chose not to take the vaccine, they will be honorably discharged because of their choice…one of the only ways we can stand up to them now would be mass non-compliance.”

“I have made the choice, I will not comply and will then I suppose be terminated at some point. So be it,” Ells Daryls said, “I intentionally worked super hard in life to be at a place to make my own decisions. That said, it will create some hardship. I will lean on God to give me direction and to take care of us.”

Robert Moreland reports, “I have not had to compromise in this way yet however, I work for a small eye care clinic. Our doctor has told us that while he would like us to be vaccinated he has a moral objection to mandating anyone put something in their body that they don’t want to. That being said he did tell us the other day that since about 40% of our revenue comes from Medicare if the mandate does stick he will have no other choice but to comply with it. He did mention that he would extend to whatever last minute deadline was laid down. He has offered those of us who have not been jabbed about a week worth of PTO as encouragement to get it.”

Deacon Weeks suggests that the companies need qualified employees and that a united front is the only way to stop the spread of government control.“I hear people in this thread against the Baccine that will compromise to keep their job… I understand that you think you need your job more than they need you but that just isn’t as true now as it was… it’s tough finding qualified employees. #DoNotComply is the best chance we have as citizens to stop the spread of total government control over our choices even the basic ones concerning the ONE thing we have a right to that NO one does; our self. Furthermore just because Some despot says a company has to pay, “or else” doesn’t give them legal standing to impose such fines, the companies need to just put up the middle finger as well and those that refuse to should lose their workforce and suffer that choice,” Weeks states.

Meanwhile, some businesses, while not mandating the vaccine at current, are asking their employees to register their vaccination status.

Amy Johansen said, “I’m being asked to “register” my shot status at my job. I’m not going to do it. it’s none of their business.”

“My spouse works for a part of the government. They had to fill out a form several weeks ago disclosing whether they have gotten the vaccine, not gotten it or select- choose not to respond. My spouse did not fill out the form at all. We’re now waiting for their lawyers to review Biden’s EO’s and respond with their interpretation. If it comes down to requiring a jab or ongoing testing to keep a job my spouse will wait to be terminated. No job is worth complying,” BA Nunley said.

Further, some Tennesseans who are looking for employment are declining when jobs are offered because the businesses are requiring their employees to be vaccinated.  

ML Zeleznock said, “This is unconstitutional and wrong.  I went to interviews and refused the jobs because I won’t take that poison when there’s diseases that are more deadly and contagious than this. You are going to have the great American walk out.  We are not slaves or owned by anyone, it’s our choice, our body.”
