The Swamp Rears Its Head, But the Grassroots Just Stomped It Down

DICKSON, TN — As the D.C. Swamp and establishment RINOs ramp up their attacks on conservative Jody Barrett, Tennessee’s grassroots conservatives are sending a loud message: They stand with Jody Barrett and President Trump.
In a packed house at the Dickson County GOP forum, with over 150 patriots in attendance, Jody Barrett won the straw poll in a blowout, earning 40.7% of the vote in a crowded primary field. His nearest competitor trailed by nearly 17 points.
“In a fractured field, pulling over 40% is more than a win, it’s a grassroots stomping,” said Barrett. “Our movement won’t be bullied, won’t be bought, and now we are ready to fight.”
Barrett continued, “The Swamp can spend all the dark money it wants, but it can’t buy the hearts and votes of real Tennesseans. I’m proud to be the most conservative State Representative in Tennessee history, and even prouder to be fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump for the families of Tennessee.”
While the D.C. political class and Trump-bashers work overtime to stop Jody Barrett, Tennesseans are rallying behind a fighter, not a follower.
“This race is simple,” Barrett continued. “It’s conservative, pro-Trump outsiders vs. the swamp. I know which side I’m on, and so do the voters.”

- Stewart Parks — 15.8%
- Gino Bulso — 13.1%
- Mason Foley — 5.5%
- Joe Leurs — 1.4%
- Stuart Cooper — 0.7%

Gino, I love you, but shouldn’t you live in the congressional district you seek to represent? I know, it’s only a couple of miles away, but still. . . .
Jody is the only man for the job and we will stand behind him 100%!! The rest of yall might as well drop out and save your money.
I was at the Dickson VFW and it was an efficient and well organized venue and very well attended meeting. Congrats to the Dickson GOP for a great event. I sat in for every question start to finish, and no one should have been surprised by the results of this straw poll, after all it is in Rep. Barrett’s back yard. The REAL surprise just might be, that Jody Barrett did not win by more….of the 110-120 people there…80-85 of them were showing off their Barrett campaign memorabilia, congrats to Jody and his supporters for showing up. As a side note, Barrett DOES have the best hat in the race! And, given his ‘finger in the eye’ AGAINST Bill’s Bill for his constituents, the fact that he was removed from his chairmanship because he dared to stand up for his constituents, it made me very intrigued by his campaign. And, I wanted to support him! That is UNTIL I heard him sling NASTY rhetoric right over my shoulder, directly to another Republican candidate in this race – Matt Van Epps. His snide remarks about the military service of a ‘certain candidate’ DID NOT go unnoticed – when asked two questions, Jody went out of his way to bite another Republican – OBVIOUSLY he is NO Reagan Republican! And, it was uncalled for…UNLESS…..he perhaps thinks he ‘has’ to do this to get attention or that he thinks he needs to go nasty on Van Epps who is beating him? Either way it SOUNDED like a desperate politician! Anyway, NOT one single person in that room, walked away thinking anything other than, GINO BULSO (district or not, Stuart) IS THE ONLY Constitutional authority in this race, in fact, he’s the ‘constitutional authority in the legislature. 100% of Gino’s answers Tuesday night, were Constitutionally SOUND and politically positive! Of the other candidates – some of them really passionate – not one of them has anything like the Constitutional knowledge that Gino Bulso has! Gino is the candidate in this race that we need to represent us in the Swamp!
He’s got my vote. The RINO mill GOP/TNGOP are against him.
