September 1787, it was the conclusion of the Constitutional Convention. Elizabeth Willing Powel, a prominent socialite asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” Franklin replied, “A republic if you can keep it!”
John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people, it is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
Congress woman Virginia Foxx stated, “The survival of our republic depends on the ongoing participation, vigilance and moral virtue of its citizens, rather than the document itself.”
Our nation is in trouble, America is number one for producing and distributing child sexual abuse materials, we are number 3 in sex trafficking of children, the 2nd leading cause of death for youth, suicide.
According to The National Fatherhood Initiative, 1 in 4 children grow up without a biological, step or adoptive father in the home. Study after study show that children who are fatherless have many social and psychological problems. Over 50% of our men in church use pornography, there is one murder every minute in the US. According to a recent Gallup poll, 57% of 18- to 34-year-olds view socialism positively.
What will our country look like 10 years from now? Will we lose the freedoms others have bled and died for? Is there any hope for America?
Yes, there is hope and the Bible gives us the answers. First and foremost, we must turn from all known sin and obey God! Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-28, it is NOT those who call Him Lord-say they believe in Jesus and identify as a Christian who will be going to heaven, no, it is those who: “Hear My words and put them into practice!”
We need to cry out to God for our nation; however, God says: “Then they will cry out to the Lord, but He will not hear them because they have been evil in their deeds.” Micah 3:4. “If I cherish sin in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” Psalms 66:18. God will not hear us unless we turn away from sin!
Our churches must get back to corporate prayer! “If My people who are called by My name, will humble themselves, seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land. 2nd Chronicles 7:14.
All who call themselves Christ followers need to vote. According to a Barna study, 94% of regular church goers are registered to vote but only 22% vote regularly! We live in a free country where we have a voice, we must use it! Many important issues will be decided soon.
The freedom to practice our faith, to protect our children from harmful ideologies, to protect ourselves from government overreach, to protect unborn children, to keep men and boys out of girls and women’s private spaces and sports.
