Members of Empowered Sevier held a town hall meeting recently to discuss a variety of conservative issues. Guest speakers were Bernadette Pajer of Children’s Health Defense and David Seal, Chairman of the Jefferson County Republican Party.

Pajer covered a variety of topics including:

• Chronic childhood illness

• Environmental toxins, prescribed and over the counter drugs

• Mercury contamination

• Importance of educating parents and voters about harmful chemical and drug exposure

• Attributed the lack of action by legislators to corporate capture of media and lobby efforts

• Misdirected attack on gun rights instead of the root cause of crime

“With Second Amendment Rights under attack, there is great urgency to address the poisoning of our children and young adults with black-box warning psychotropic drugs being prescribed that are driving some people — but especially our children and youthand military veterans—to violence against themselves and others.”….” Through education and citizen engagement, we need legislators to know the solution is not to disarm citizens, but to disarm pharma.” – Bernadette Pajer, Children’s Health Defense

Seal covered topics that included the following:

• Use of eminent domain by government and the property rights issues that surround Tennessee’s approach to permit housing authorities to condemn property for private development under T.C.A. § 29-17-102 (2)(c).

• The impending special legislative session that is expected to include “red flag” bills that are being presented as “order of protection” laws. A resolution was made by the Jefferson County Republican Party Executive Committee to express opposition to potential red flag legislation. Other county parties and county commissions have followed suit with their own resolutions.

• Public education and the LGBTQ+ agenda, Jefferson County Republican Party Executive Committee made a resolution asking that Jefferson County Schools remove a third party mental health contractor that advertises LGBTQ+ ideology.

“It is not enough to just attend meetings and make social media posts. Concerned citizens must take decisive action and work hard to create changes in public policy. I want my kids, grandkids, and future generations to live in a free country, the constitutional republic that our brilliant founders created. That is my motivation”  – David Seal, Chair, Jefferson County Republican Party

Kelli O’Connor, Empowered Sevier Chair announced the sold-out July 18 Freedom Fest in Dandridge featuring Gary Humble, Tennessee Stands; Heather Fair, Former Blount County Republican Women’s President; Brandon Lewis, Publisher of the Tennessee Conservative News; and Catherine Austin Fitts of the Solari Report
