A recently released poll showed Republican U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn leading Democrat opponent Gloria Johnson by 24-percentage-points. While 25 percent of registered voters are still undecided, fifty percent said they would support Blackburn while only 26 percent were backing Johnson.

The poll was conducted between October 1 and October 4 and gathered responses from 410 registered voters through both online and email platforms. There is a margin of error of plus or minus 4.8 percentage points.

According to Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, “Representative Johnson’s support is highest among Black Tennessee voters, at 56%, while 11% support Senator Blackburn among this group. Among white voters, 60% support Blackburn and 19% Johnson.”

The polls also found that Governor Bill Lee currently has an approval rating of 35% and a disapproval rating of 25%. 48% said they were neutral. 61% of voters said they disapprove of what President Joe Biden is currently doing and only 20% said they approved. In a hypothetical rematch this year, former President Donald Trump would lead Biden 55% to 22%, according to poll results.

According to ABC News’ FiveThirtyEight project, Emerson College polls get an A-minus rating based on “the historical accuracy and methodology of each polling organization’s polls”, making them one of the most accurate pollsters.
